(In the days of old), Noah cried to Us, and We are the best to hear prayer. 75 And We delivered him and his followers from the mighty distress. 76 And his offspring! them We made the survivors. 77 And We kept his praise among the latter generations. 78 Peace be upon Nooh, among the entire people. 79 Verily, thus do We reward the doers of good 80 Surely he was among Our faithful creatures. 81 We drowned all the others (besides Noah and his people). 82 ۞ And verily of his sect was Ibrahim. 83 when he came unto his Lord with a pure heart, 84 and asked his father and his people, "What is that you worship? 85 Is it a falsehood-god beside Allah that ye desire? 86 "Then what do you think about the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns, and all that exists)?" 87 Then he looked up at the stars (they worshipped), 88 And said: "I am sick (of what you worship)!" 89 so they turned their backs on him and went off. 90 Then he turned to their aliha (gods) and said: "Will you not eat (of the offering before you)? 91 "What is the matter with you that you speak not?" 92 And he turned upon them striking them with the right hand. 93 So the disbelievers came running towards him. 94 Abraham said to them: “Do you worship what you yourselves have carved with your own hands 95 when it is Allah who created you and all that you do' 96 They said, “Construct a building (furnace) for him, and then cast him in the blazing fire!” 97 They had contrived an evil plan against him, but We abased them all. 98 And [then] he said, "Indeed, I will go to [where I am ordered by] my Lord; He will guide me. 99 My Lord, grant me [a child] from among the righteous." 100 So We gave him the good news of a clement son. 101 And [one day,] when [the child] had become old enough to share in his [father's] endeavours, the latter said: "O my dear son! I have seen in a dream that I should sacrifice thee: consider, then, what would be thy view!" [Ishmael] answered: "O my father! Do as thou art bidden: thou wilt find me, if God so wills, among those who are patient in adversity!" 102 Then when the twain had submitted themselves and he had prostrated him upon his temple. 103 And We called out to him saying: O Ibrahim! 104 Thou hast already fulfilled the vision. Lo! thus do We reward the good. 105 Indeed this was a clear test. 106 And We ransomed him with a momentous sacrifice: 107 And We left for him (a goodly remembrance) among generations (to come) in later times. 108 Peace be with Abraham. 109 Thus do We reward the doers of good 110 for he was truly one of our believing servants. 111 And We gave him the good news of Ishaq, a prophet among the good ones. 112 And We showered Our blessings on him and on Ishaq; and of their offspring are the doers of good, and (also) those who are clearly unjust to their own souls. 113
