And indeed Nooh prayed to Us – so what an excellent Acceptor of Prayer We are! 75 And We delivered him and his people from the great distress, 76 and We made his offspring the only survivors. 77 And We perpetuated to him (praise) among the later generations. 78 Peace be upon Noah among all the nations. 79 Thus do We reward all those who do good. 80 he was among Our believing servants. 81 We drowned the rest. 82 ۞ And verily of his sect was Ibrahim. 83 When he came to his Lord with a free heart, 84 [And] when he said to his father and his people, "What do you worship? 85 Do you want [to bow down before] a lie - [before] deities other than God? 86 “So what do you assume regarding the Lord Of The Creation?” (That He will not punish you?) 87 Then he looked at the stars, looking up once, 88 and said: 'Surely, I am sick (of what you worship)' 89 So they went away from him, turning back. 90 Then he turned to their gods, and said, 'What do you eat? 91 "What is the matter with you that ye speak not (intelligently)?" 92 Then he turned against them secretly, smiting them with the right hand. 93 So the people descended upon him. 94 Said he: What! do you worship what you hew out? 95 even though God created both you and that which you have made?" 96 They said, "Build a pyre for him and throw him into the blaze!" 97 They wanted to harm him, but We humiliated them all. 98 And [Abraham] said: "Verily, I shall [leave this land and] go wherever my Sustainer will guide me!" 99 “My Lord! Give me a meritorious child.” 100 Wherefore We gave him the glad tidings of a boy gentle. 101 And, when he (his son) was old enough to walk with him, he said: "O my son! I have seen in a dream that I am slaughtering you (offer you in sacrifice to Allah), so look what you think!" He said: "O my father! Do that which you are commanded, Insha' Allah (if Allah will), you shall find me of As-Sabirin (the patient ones, etc.)." 102 When both surrendered (to Allah's command) and Abraham flung the son down on his forehead, 103 We cried unto him: O Ibrahim 104 Thou hast already fulfilled the vision. Lo! thus do We reward the good. 105 Most surely this is a manifest trial. 106 Then We ransomed him with a tremendous victim. 107 and left for him among the later folk 108 "Peace and salutation to Abraham!" 109 That is how We recompense the righteous: 110 He was one of Our believing servants. 111 Then, We gave him the glad tidings of Isaac, a Prophet, one of the righteous, 112 And We blessed him and Isaac. Among the offspring of the two some did good and some plainly wronged themselves. 113
