Noah called for help. How blessed was the answer which he received. 75 And We saved him and his family from the great affliction. 76 And We made his descendants those remaining [on the earth] 77 And left (his name) for posterity. 78 Peace be on Nuh among the worlds. 79 Verily, thus We reward the Muhsinun (good-doers - see V. 2:112). 80 Surely he was of Our believing servants. 81 Then afterwards We drowned the rest. 82 ۞ And indeed Ibrahim is from his (Nooh’s) group. 83 when he turned to his Sustainer with a heart free of evil, 84 when he said to his father and his folk, 'What do you serve? 85 Is it false deities that you want to serve rather than Allah? 86 What think you then of the Lord of all Being?' 87 He then shot a glance at the stars. 88 and said, "Verily, I am sick [at heart]!" 89 So they turned away from him, departing. 90 He turned to their gods and said, "Do you not eat? 91 "What is the matter with you that you speak not?" 92 then he turned on them, striking them down with his right hand. 93 Then came the others to him hastening. 94 but he said, "How can you worship things you carve with your own hands, 95 even though God created both you and that which you have made?" 96 They said, "Construct for him a furnace and throw him into the burning fire." 97 So they tried to execute their evil scheme upon him – We therefore degraded them. (Allah saved him, by commanding the fire to turn cool). 98 And he said: verily I am going to my Lord who will guide me. 99 "My Lord! Grant me (offspring) from the righteous." 100 And We gave him the glad tidings of a very gentle son (Ishmael). 101 When he was old enough to go about with him, he said: "O my son, I dreamt that I was sacrificing you. Consider, what you think?" He replied: "Father, do as you are commanded. If God pleases you will find me firm." 102 And when they had both submitted, and his son had laid down prostrate upon his forehead, 103 We cried unto him: O Ibrahim 104 You have fulfilled the vision." Indeed, We thus reward the doers of good. 105 Lo! that verily was a clear test. 106 And We ransomed him with a great sacrifice (i.e. a ram); 107 And We kept his praise among the latter generations. 108 Peace be unto Abraham! 109 Thus indeed do We reward those who do right. 110 For he was one of our believing Servants. 111 So We gave him the good news of Isaac, apostle, who is among the righteous. 112 And We blessed him and Isaac. Among the offspring of the two some did good and some plainly wronged themselves. 113
