Noah called to Us; and how excellent were the Answerers! 75 We saved him and his people from the great distress, 76 And We preserved his descendants. 77 and left for him among the later folk 78 Peace be unto Noah among the peoples! 79 Thus indeed do we reward those who do right. 80 Surely he was one of Our truly believing servants. 81 We then drowned the others. 82 ۞ And Abraham indeed was of his inducement, 83 (Remember when) he came to his Lord with a pure heart; 84 When he said to his father and his people: "What is this you worship? 85 Is it falsehood [as] gods other than Allah you desire? 86 What do you think about the Lord of the Universe?" 87 And he cast a look at the stars 88 and said, "I am sick!" 89 And they turned their backs on him and went away. (The pagans thought he would transmit the disease). 90 Then he turned to their gods, and said: 'What do you eat? 91 What is [wrong] with you that you do not speak?" 92 And he turned upon them a blow with [his] right hand. 93 So they (people) advanced towards him, hastening. 94 He answered: "Do you worship something that you [yourselves] have carved, 95 "When God has created you and what you make?" 96 They said: Build for him a furnace, then cast him into the burning fire. 97 They desired to outwit him; so We made them the lower ones. 98 He said: "I will go to my Lord! He will surely guide me! 99 Lord, grant me a righteous son.” 100 And We gave him the glad tidings of a very gentle son (Ishmael). 101 And [one day,] when [the child] had become old enough to share in his [father's] endeavours, the latter said: "O my dear son! I have seen in a dream that I should sacrifice thee: consider, then, what would be thy view!" [Ishmael] answered: "O my father! Do as thou art bidden: thou wilt find me, if God so wills, among those who are patient in adversity!" 102 When they had both submitted to God, and he had laid his son down on his face, 103 We called to him, saying: 'O Abraham, 104 you have fulfilled what you were commanded to do in your dream." Thus do We reward the righteous ones. 105 Lo! that verily was a clear test. 106 We ransomed his son with a great sacrifice 107 and We preserved for him a good name among posterity. 108 "Peace be upon Abraham!" 109 That is how We reward those who do good. 110 He is truly among Our faithful creatures. 111 Then, We gave him the glad tidings of Isaac, a Prophet, one of the righteous, 112 and We blessed him and Isaac, and from their offspring are some gooddoers, and others who clearly wronged themselves. 113
