Al-Saaffaat 4 of 5
And We verily gave grace unto Moses and Aaron, 114 And We delivered them and their people from (their) Great Calamity; 115 And We helped them, so they were the vanquishers. 116 And We gave them the explicit Scripture, 117 and showed them the Straight Way, 118 And We left for them among the later folk (the salutation): 119 Peace be unto Moses and Aaron! 120 Even so We recompense the good-doers; 121 They were two of Our believing servants. 122 And verily, llyas was one of the sent ones. 123 Recall what time he said unto his people: fear ye not? 124 Will ye cry unto Baal and forsake the Best of creators, 125 “Allah – Who is your Lord and the Lord of your forefathers?” 126 But they belied him, so they will be among the arraigned (in Hell), 127 except the chosen servants of God. 128 We preserved a good name for him among posterity. 129 'Peace be upon El Yaseen' 130 Verily, thus do We reward the Muhsinun (good-doers, who perform good deeds totally for Allah's sake only - see V. 2:112). 131 Verily he was one of Our bondmen believing. 132 Verily Lot was one of the apostles, 133 Wherefore We saved him and his entire family 134 Except his wife among those who remained [with the evildoers]. 135 Then We destroyed the rest [i.e. the towns of Sodom at the place of the Dead Sea (now) in Palestine]. [See the "Book of History" by Ibn Kathir]. 136 and, verily, [to this day] you pass by the remnants of their dwellings at morning-time 137 And by night: will ye not understand? 138

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
