THUS, INDEED, did We bestow Our favour upon Moses and Aaron; 114 and We saved them with their nation from a great distress. 115 We succoured them, and they gained the upper hand (against their enemies). 116 And We gave them both the Book that made (things) clear. 117 and guided them the straight way, 118 And We left for them among the later folk (the salutation): 119 Salamun (peace) be upon Musa (Moses) and Harun (Aaron)!" 120 Thus do We reward the doers of good 121 Surely they were both of Our believing servants. 122 And indeed, Elias was from among the messengers, 123 when he said to his people, 'Will you not be godfearing? 124 What! do you call upon Ba'l and forsake the best of the creators, 125 God, your Sustainer and the Sustainer of your forebears of old?" 126 They denied him, and will surely be brought to punishment, 127 except the sincere worshipers of Allah. 128 And we left for him among the later folk (the salutation): 129 Peace be upon Elias. 130 Verily, thus do We reward the Muhsinun (good-doers, who perform good deeds totally for Allah's sake only - see V. 2:112). 131 Lo! he is one of our believing slaves. 132 And Lut was most surely of the apostles. 133 We rescued him and his whole family, 134 Save an old woman among the lingerers. 135 Then We destroyed the others. 136 and, verily, [to this day] you pass by the remnants of their dwellings at morning-time 137 Or at night. Then how is it you do not understand? 138
