We certainly bestowed Our favor upon Moses and Aaron 114 and We saved them and their people from the awesome calamity [of bondage,] 115 And We succoured them so that they became overcomers. 116 And We gave them the Book which helps to make things clear; 117 And We guided them both on the right way. 118 And We left for them [favorable mention] among later generations: 119 Peace be upon Moses and Aaron. 120 Verily, thus do We reward the Muhsinun (good-doers - see V. 2:112). 121 for those two were truly among Our believing servants. 122 And verily, Iliyas (Elias) was one of the Messengers. 123 When he said unto his folk: Will ye not ward off (evil)? 124 “What! You worship Baal (an idol) and leave the Best Creator?” – 125 Allah is your Lord and the Lord of your fathers, the ancients' 126 But they cried him lies; so they will be among the arraigned, 127 except Allah's chosen servants. 128 We left him thus to be succeeded by a group [of followers] among the following generations -- 129 "Peace be on Elijah and his people!" 130 Verily We! thus We recompense the well-doers. 131 he was among Our believing servants. 132 Lot was certainly a Messenger. 133 When We delivered him and his followers, all-- 134 except an old woman who lingered, 135 Then We totally destroyed the others. 136 And most surely you pass by them in the morning, 137 and at night. Will you then not understand? 138
