Hizb 46
< random >
Verily Jonah is one of the apostles. 139 [Mention] when he ran away to the laden ship. 140 And then drew lots and was of those rejected; 141 and the fish swallowed him while he was blaming himself. 142 Had he not been one of those who glorify Allah, 143 he would certainly have remained in its belly till the Day of Resurrection. 144 ۞ So We cast him, sick, on a barren shore, 145 and caused a creeping plant to grow over him [out of the barren soil]. 146 And We sent him to a hundred thousand (people) or even more. 147 And they believed, therefor We gave them comfort for a while. 148 Therefore ask them (O dear Prophet Mohammed peace and blessings be upon him), whether the daughters are for your Lord and the sons for them! 149 Did We create the angels females, to which they were witnesses? 150 Pay heed! It is their slander that they say. 151 "God has begotten (children)?" They are liars indeed! 152 Has He chosen daughters above sons? 153 What aileth you? How judge ye? 154 Will ye not then reflect? 155 Do you have clear authority? 156 Then bring your Book if you are truthful! 157 They assert kinship between Him and the angels. But the angels know that they (the liars) will be arraigned (in Hell). 158 God is too glorious to be described as they describe Him 159 Not thus, however, [behave] God's true servants: 160 So surely you and what you worship, 161 Not against Him can you cause (any) to fall into trial, 162 except him who shall roast in Hell. 163 And the angels say, “Each one of us has an appointed known position.” 164 Verily, we (angels), we stand in rows for the prayers (as you Muslims stand in rows for your prayers); 165 we are they that give glory. 166 And they surely were wont to say: 167 "If we had had with us a Book like that of the people of old, 168 we would have been sincere worshipers of Allah' 169 But they disbelieved in it; soon they shall know! 170 Our word had already been given before to Our votaries, the apostles, -- 171 That they would certainly be assisted, 172 and that Our army will be triumphant. 173 So turn thou away from them for a little while, 174 And watch them (how they fare), and they soon shall see (how thou farest)! 175 Do they wish (indeed) to hurry on our Punishment? 176 Then when it descendeth unto them face to face, a hapless morn that shall be for those who were warned. 177 And leave them for a time. 178 And watch (how they fare) and they soon shall see (how thou farest)! 179 Exaltations be to your Lord, the Lord of Might, above that they describe! 180 And peace is upon the Noble Messengers. 181 and praise be to God, the Lord of all the Worlds. 182
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
End of Surah: The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat). Sent down in Mecca after Animals (Al-An 'aam) before Luqmaan (Luqmaan)
