Hizb 46

Jonah, too, was one of the Messengers. 139 Recall what time he ran away unto a laden ship. 140 and cast lots, and was of the rebutted, 141 Then the big Fish did swallow him, and he had done acts worthy of blame. 142 And were he not one of those who praise. 143 he would certainly have remained inside the fish till the Day of Resurrection. 144 ۞ but We caused him to be cast forth on a desert shore, sick [at heart] as he was, 145 And We caused to grow, over him, a spreading plant of the gourd kind. 146 We sent him to a hundred thousand men or more, 147 And they believed, so We gave them enjoyment [of life] for a time. 148 So inquire of them, [O Muhammad], "Does your Lord have daughters while they have sons? 149 Did We create the angels females, to which they were witnesses? 150 Now surely it is of their own lie that they say: 151 " Allah has begotten," and indeed, they are liars. 152 Has He (then) chosen daughters rather than sons? 153 What is the matter with you? How do you decide? 154 Will you not then mind? 155 Do you have clear authority? 156 Then bring your scripture, if what you say is true. 157 They link Him with jinns by lineage, yet the jinns know they will be brought before Him. 158 God is too glorious to be described as they describe Him 159 Except the bondmen of Allah sincere. 160 So indeed, you [disbelievers] and whatever you worship, 161 Ye cannot excite (anyone) against Him. 162 except those who are doomed to enter hell. 163 As for us, there is none but has an appointed station. 164 Verily, we (angels), we stand in rows for the prayers (as you Muslims stand in rows for your prayers); 165 And we are most surely they who declare the glory (of Allah). 166 And there were those who said, 167 Had we a reminder from those of yore, 168 we would surely have been God's chosen servants," 169 Yet (now that it is come) they disbelieve therein; but they will come to know. 170 And verily Our word went forth of old unto Our bondmen sent (to warn) 171 [That] indeed, they would be those given victory 172 and Our host -- they are the victors. 173 So withdraw from them (O Muhammad) awhile, 174 And wait; they will come to know soon. 175 Do they seek to hasten on Our Torment? 176 When it lights in their courtyard, how evil will be the morning of them that are warned! 177 Leave them alone for a while, 178 And see thou: they themselves shall presently see. 179 Your Lord, the Lord of Honor, is too exalted to be considered as they describe Him. 180 Peace be on the Messengers. 181 and praise belongs to God, the Lord of all Being. 182
God Almighty has spoken the truth.
End of Surah: The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat). Sent down in Mecca after Animals (Al-An 'aam) before Luqmaan (Luqmaan)
