Hizb 46
< random >
And indeed, Jonah was among the messengers. 139 When he fled unto the laden ship, 140 And then they cast lots, and he was the one who lost; 141 Then the big Fish did swallow him, and he had done acts worthy of blame. 142 Now had he not been of those that glorify God, 143 He would have remained in its belly till the day when all will be raised. 144 ۞ But We caused him to be cast forth on to the beach, sick as he was, 145 And We grew a tree of gourd (as a shelter) above him. 146 We sent him to a hundred thousand men or more, 147 and they believed in him: so We let them live in ease for a while. 148 So ask them for a pronouncement -- Has thy Lord daughters, and they sons? 149 or is it that We have created the angels female, and they [who believe them to be divine] have witnessed [that act of creation]? 150 Now surely it is of their own lie that they say: 151 'Allah has begotten' They are truly liars. 152 Did He (then) choose daughters rather than sons? 153 What is the matter with you? How do you decide? 154 Will ye not then reflect? 155 Or have you clear evidence? 156 Bring your book if what you say is true. 157 They have established a kinship between Allah and the angels; and the angels know well that these people will be arraigned (as culprits). 158 God is too glorious to be described as they describe Him 159 Not thus, however, [behave] God's true servants: 160 You and whatever you worship 161 you shall tempt none against Him 162 Save him who will go to hell. 163 [The angels say], "Every single one of us has his place assigned: 164 And verily we! we are ranged in ranks. 165 And we are most surely they who declare the glory (of Allah). 166 AND, INDEED, they [who deny the truth] have always been wont to say, 167 "If we had a reminder as had the men of old (before the coming of Prophet Muhammad SAW as a Messenger of Allah). 168 We would be single-minded slaves of Allah. 169 but they have rejected it, [the Quran] and they shall soon learn! 170 We decreed that Our Messenger servants 171 That they verily would be helped, 172 and that Our hosts shall triumph. 173 Hence, turn thou aside for a while from those [who deny the truth,] 174 and see, and soon they too shall see. 175 Do they really wish to hasten Our punishment? 176 But when it descends into the open space before them, evil will be the morning for those who were warned (and heeded not)! 177 And leave them for a time. 178 And (then) see, for they too shall see. 179 Exaltations be to your Lord, the Lord of Might, above that they describe! 180 And peace be unto the sent ones. 181 And all praise is due to Allah, the Lord of the worlds. 182
God Almighty has spoken the truth.
