Hizb 46

And indeed, Jonah was among the messengers. 139 He ran away to the laden ship, 140 and cast lots, and was of the rebutted, 141 The fish swallowed him up and he deserved (all this). 142 Had he not glorified God, 143 He would have remained inside its belly until the Day they are resurrected. 144 ۞ But We cast him, upon the shore, and he was ill, 145 and caused a gourd tree to grow over him, 146 We sent him to a hundred thousand men or more, 147 And they came to believe; so We allowed them to enjoy the good things of life for an age. 148 Now ask thou them: are there for thy Lord daughters and for them sons? 149 Did We create the angels as females the while they witnessed?” 150 Oh, verily, it is out of their own [inclination to] falsehood that some people assert, 151 "God has begotten (children)?" They are liars indeed! 152 Does He prefer sons to daughters? 153 What is the matter with you? How do you form your judgement? 154 Then will you not be reminded? 155 Or have you clear evidence? 156 Then produce your writ, if ye are truthful. 157 They have set up a kinship between Him and the jinn; and the jinn know that they shall be arraigned. 158 Glorified is Allah! (He is Free) from what they attribute unto Him! 159 But not so the servants of Allah, the purified ones. 160 So, verily you (pagans) and those whom you worship (idols). 161 You cannot make anyone rebel against Him. 162 Except those who are predestined to burn in Hell! 163 There is not one of us but hath his known position. 164 We stand in ranks (for prayer) 165 we are they that give glory. 166 They used to say before: 167 If we had the account of earlier people with us, 168 We would have been the chosen servants of Allah." 169 And yet, [now that this divine writ has been placed before them,] they refuse to acknowledge it as true! In time, however, they will come to know [what it was that they had rejected]: 170 And indeed Our Word has already gone forth for Our bondmen who were sent. 171 that they shall certainly be succoured, 172 And that certainly Our armies will be victorious. 173 So turn thou away from them for a little while, 174 And wait; they will come to know soon. 175 Do they seek to hasten Our chastisement? 176 When it descends upon their courtyards, evil will be the morning of those forewarned. 177 Withdraw from them awhile 178 And watch, for they will (soon) see. 179 Hallowed be thine Lord, the Lord of Majesty, from that which they ascribe! 180 So peace be on the messengers, 181 And all praise is to Allah, the Lord Of The Creation. 182
True are the words of God the Almighty.
End of Surah: The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat). Sent down in Mecca after Animals (Al-An 'aam) before Luqmaan (Luqmaan)
