Hizb 46
< random >
And indeed Yunus is one of the Noble Messengers. 139 When he fled unto the laden ship, 140 and cast lots, and he was among the losers (of the lots that were cast). 141 So the whale swallowed him, for he was blameworthy, 142 And were he not one of those who praise. 143 he would have lingered in its belly till the Day they are resurrected. 144 ۞ but We caused him to be cast forth on a desert shore, sick [at heart] as he was, 145 And We grew a tree of gourd (as a shelter) above him. 146 And We sent him to a hundred thousand (people) or even more. 147 and they believed; so We gave them enjoyment for a while. 148 So ask their opinion: “(Are you convinced) that your Lord should have daughters and you should have sons? 149 Have We created the angels as females before their very eyes? 150 Pay heed! It is their slander that they say. 151 'God has begotten?' They are truly liars. 152 Has He chosen daughters above sons? 153 What is the matter with you that you make such strange judgements? 154 Will ye not then reflect? 155 Do you have clear authority? 156 Then produce your scripture, if you should be truthful. 157 They have set up a kinship between Him and the jinn; and the jinn know that they shall be arraigned. 158 God is far above what they attribute to Him, 159 Except His chosen creatures who do not. 160 So, verily you (pagans) and those whom you worship (idols). 161 Ye cannot excite (anyone) against Him. 162 except those who are doomed to enter hell. 163 There is not one of us (angels) but has his known place (or position); 164 "And we are truly those who stand in rows, 165 and we are of those who glorify Allah.” 166 And indeed they used to say: 167 Had we but an admonition as had the ancients. 168 We would have been the chosen creatures of God." 169 And yet, [now that this divine writ has been placed before them,] they refuse to acknowledge it as true! In time, however, they will come to know [what it was that they had rejected]: 170 We have already given Our promise to Our Messengers 171 that they shall certainly be succoured, 172 and that Our hosts shall triumph. 173 So, (O Prophet), leave them alone for a while, 174 And (then) see them, so they too shall see. 175 Do they seek to hasten Our chastisement? 176 But when it shall descend in their court, evil shall then be the morning of the warned ones. 177 Hence, turn thou aside for a while from them, 178 and see; and they too shall soon see. 179 Exalted be your Lord, the Lord of Glory, above what they attribute to Him, 180 And peace upon the messengers. 181 And all praise is due to God alone, the Sustainer of all the worlds! 182
God the Almighty always says the truth.
