Hizb 46
< random >
And indeed, Jonah was among the messengers. 139 He abandoned his people 140 Then lots were drawn and he became of those who were pushed into the sea. 141 So the whale swallowed him, for he was blameworthy, 142 And were he not one of those who praise. 143 He would have indeed remained inside its belly (the fish) till the Day of Resurrection. 144 ۞ Then We cast him on to the vacant surface of the earth while he was sick. 145 And We caused to grow, over him, a spreading plant of the gourd kind. 146 We sent him to a hundred thousand men or more, 147 So they accepted faith We therefore gave them usage for a while. 148 Now, ask them, has your Lord daughters, and they sons? 149 Or that We created the angels female, and they are witnesses (thereto)? 150 Is it not of their own calumny that they say, 151 That “Allah has offspring”; and indeed, surely, they are liars. 152 "He has chosen daughters in preference to sons"! 153 What is the matter with you? How judge ye? 154 Will you not, then, bethink yourselves? 155 Or have you, perchance, a clear evidence [for your assertions]? 156 Then produce your scriptures, if you are telling the truth. 157 And they have appointed a relationship between Him and the jinns; and indeed the jinns surely know that they will be brought forth. 158 Hallowed be Allah from that which they ascribe to Him. 159 Not (so do) the Servants of Allah, sincere and devoted. 160 For, verily, neither ye nor those ye worship- 161 you shall not tempt any against Him 162 Save him who is to burn in hell. 163 "There is not one of us who does not have his appointed place," (declare the angels.) 164 we are the rangers, 165 Verily, we (angels), we are they who glorify (Allah's Praises i.e. perform prayers). 166 And surely they used to say: 167 “If only we had the Reminder which had been granted to the people of yore 168 we would have certainly been sincere servants of God". 169 Yet (now that it is come) they disbelieve therein; but they will come to know. 170 Already Our Word has preceded to Our servants, the Envoys; 171 That verily they! they shall be made triumphant. 172 And that Our hosts, they verily would be the victors. 173 Hence, turn thou aside for a while from those [who deny the truth,] 174 and watch them. They, too, will watch. 175 Our torment seek they to hasten on! 176 When it comes down on their plains, it will be an evil dawn for those who had been warned. 177 And turn away from them for some time. 178 and see; soon they shall see! 179 Purity is to your Lord, the Lord of Honour, from all what they say. 180 And peace be upon the Envoys; 181 and praise be to God, the Lord of all the Worlds. 182
God the Almighty always says the truth.
End of Surah: The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat). Sent down in Mecca after Animals (Al-An 'aam) before Luqmaan (Luqmaan)
