Hizb 46
< random >
Verily Jonah is one of the apostles. 139 [Mention] when he ran away to the laden ship. 140 He (agreed to) cast lots, and he was among the losers, 141 Then a fish swallowed him, and he was blameworthy. 142 And had he not been one of those who glorify (Allah) 143 he would certainly have remained in its belly till the Day of Resurrection. 144 ۞ But We threw him on a wide bare tract of land while he was ill; 145 and We caused a gourd tree to grow over him. 146 And We sent him towards a hundred thousand people, in fact more. 147 And they believed; so We gave them enjoyment for a while. 148 (Muhammad), ask them, "Do daughters belong to your Lord and sons to them? 149 Have We created the angels as females before their very eyes? 150 Now surely it is of their own lie that they say: 151 'God has begotten a son.' They are certainly liars. 152 Did He choose daughters rather than sons? 153 “What is the matter with you? What sort of a judgement you impose!” 154 Will you not then remember? 155 Or, do you have a clear authority? 156 Bring your Book, if you speak truly! 157 They have established a kinship between Allah and the angels; and the angels know well that these people will be arraigned (as culprits). 158 God is far above what they attribute to Him, 159 Save single-minded slaves of Allah. 160 So you and your deities 161 can cause anyone to fall prey to your temptation 162 Save him who is to burn in hell. 163 There is not one of us (angels) but has his known place (or position); 164 "And we are truly those who stand in rows, 165 and we are of those who glorify Allah.” 166 And there were those who said, 167 If we had but a reminder from the men of old 168 "We would have indeed been the chosen slaves of Allah (true believers of Islamic Monotheism)!" 169 They have rejected the Quran. They will soon know the consequences (of their disbelief). 170 And Our word has already preceded for Our servants, the messengers, 171 will certainly be victorious 172 And that Our host, they verily would be the victors. 173 Therefore turn away from them for some time. 174 And watch them, for they will soon see. 175 What, do they seek to hasten Our punishment? 176 But when it shall descend in their court, evil shall then be the morning of the warned ones. 177 And turn thou aside from them for a season. 178 and watch. They, too, will watch. 179 Your Lord, the Lord of Honor, is too exalted to be considered as they describe Him. 180 And peace be upon the Envoys; 181 And praise belongs to Allah, Lord of the Worlds. 182
True are the words of God the Almighty.
End of Surah: The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat). Sent down in Mecca after Animals (Al-An 'aam) before Luqmaan (Luqmaan)
