Hizb 46

Jonah too was one of the messengers. 139 When he ran away (like a slave from captivity) to the ship (fully) laden, 140 And lots were cast (when a storm overtook them), he was rejected, (and thrown overboard). 141 Then the fish swallowed him, while he was blameworthy. 142 And had he not been one of those who glorify (Allah) 143 He would have remained in its belly till the day when all will be raised. 144 ۞ Then We cast him on to the vacant surface of the earth while he was sick. 145 And We caused a tree of gourd to grow above him; 146 And We had sent him to a hundred thousand: rather they exceeded. 147 and they believed in him: so We let them live in ease for a while. 148 So ask them for a pronouncement -- Has thy Lord daughters, and they sons? 149 Or created We the angels females while they were witnesses? 150 Verily, it is of their falsehood that they (Quraish pagans) say: 151 “Allah has begotten.” They are liars! 152 Hath He chosen daughters above sons? 153 What ails you that you judge in such a wise? 154 Do you not understand? 155 Do you have any clear authority for such claims? 156 Bring your Book, if you speak truly! 157 And they have invented a kinship between Him and the jinns, but the jinns know well that they have indeed to appear (before Him) (i.e. they will be brought for accounts). 158 Purity is to Allah from the matters they fabricate. 159 But not so the servants of Allah, the purified ones. 160 Wherefore verily neither ye nor that which ye worship, 161 Ye cannot excite (anyone) against Him. 162 except those who are doomed to enter hell. 163 The angels say, "Each of us has an appointed place. 164 "And we are truly those who stand in rows, 165 Verily, we (angels), we are they who glorify (Allah's Praises i.e. perform prayers). 166 AND, INDEED, they [who deny the truth] have always been wont to say, 167 "Had we received guidance from the people living before us, 168 We would be single-minded slaves of Allah. 169 But they disbelieve in it (the Koran), but soon they shall know! 170 Already has Our Word been passed before (this) to our Servants sent (by Us), 171 That they would certainly be assisted, 172 and that, verily, Our hosts - they indeed - would [in the end] be victorious! 173 Therefore turn away from them till a time, 174 And watch them (how they fare), and they soon shall see (how thou farest)! 175 What, do they seek to hasten Our chastisement? 176 But when it descends in their territory, then evil is the morning of those who were warned. 177 Stay away from them for a while 178 And see thou: they themselves shall presently see. 179 LIMITLESS in His glory is thy Sustainer, the Lord of almightiness, [exalted] above anything that men may devise by way of definition! 180 And peace be upon the Envoys; 181 And praise be to Allah, Lord of the Worlds! 182
True are the words of God the Almighty.
End of Surah: The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat). Sent down in Mecca after Animals (Al-An 'aam) before Luqmaan (Luqmaan)
