Hizb 46
< random >
And, verily, Yunus (Jonah) was one of the Messengers. 139 He ran away to the laden ship, 140 And he drew lots and was among the losers. 141 Then the fish swallowed him, while he was blameworthy. 142 Had he not been one of those who struggled hard, 143 He would have stayed in its belly till the day the dead are raised. 144 ۞ Then We cast him on a desert shore while he was sick; 145 And We caused a tree of gourd to grow above him; 146 We sent him as a messenger to a hundred thousand people or more, 147 and they believed. So We let them enjoy life for a while. 148 Therefore ask them (O dear Prophet Mohammed peace and blessings be upon him), whether the daughters are for your Lord and the sons for them! 149 Or did We create the angels as females while they were witnesses?" 150 Pay heed! It is their slander that they say. 151 "God has begotten (children)?" They are liars indeed! 152 Has He chosen daughters in preference to sons? 153 What ails you then, how you judge? 154 Will you not then reflect? 155 Do you have clear authority? 156 Then bring your book, if you are truthful. 157 And they have made between Him and the jinn a kinship whereas the jinn assuredly know that they are to be brought up 158 God is too glorious for what they ascribe to Him 159 Not thus, however, [behave] God's true servants: 160 Therefore you and all what you worship. (The disbelievers and their deities.) 161 you shall not tempt any against Him 162 except those who are doomed to enter hell. 163 And the angels say, “Each one of us has an appointed known position.” 164 Verily, we (angels), we stand in rows for the prayers (as you Muslims stand in rows for your prayers); 165 Verily, we (angels), we are they who glorify (Allah's Praises i.e. perform prayers). 166 And indeed they used to say: 167 "If only we had had before us a Message from those of old, 168 We would certainly have been the servants of Allah-- the purified ones. 169 But (now) they disbelieve in it, so they will come to know. 170 And certainly Our word has already gone forth in respect of Our servants, the apostles: 171 That they would be helped, 172 And that Our forces,- they surely must conquer. 173 So, (O Prophet), leave them alone for a while, 174 And wait; they will come to know soon. 175 So are they being impatient for Our punishment? 176 Then when it descendeth unto them face to face, a hapless morn that shall be for those who were warned. 177 And leave them for a time. 178 And watch, for they will (soon) see. 179 Hallowed be thine Lord, the Lord of Majesty, from that which they ascribe! 180 Peace be upon the Messengers 181 and praise belongs to God, the Lord of all Being. 182
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
End of Surah: The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat). Sent down in Mecca after Animals (Al-An 'aam) before Luqmaan (Luqmaan)
