Hizb 46
< random >
Jonah, too, was one of the Messengers. 139 [Mention] when he ran away to the laden ship. 140 And then drew lots and was of those rejected; 141 And the fish swallowed him while he was blameworthy; 142 Had it not been that he (repented and) glorified Allah, 143 He would certainly have tarried in its belly to the day when they are raised. 144 ۞ Then We cast him on to the vacant surface of the earth while he was sick. 145 And We caused a tree of gourd to grow above him; 146 And We sent him to [his people of] a hundred thousand or more. 147 And they believed, so We gave them provision till a time. 148 Now ask them if their Lord has daughters, and they sons? 149 Or that We created the angels female, and they are witnesses (thereto)? 150 Behold, it is one of their fabrications that they say: 151 "God has begotten (children)?" They are liars indeed! 152 Did He (then) choose daughters rather than sons? 153 Woe to you! How terrible is your Judgment. 154 Will ye not then be admonished? 155 Or have you a clear authority? 156 Bring your Book, if you are truthful. 157 They link Him with jinns by lineage, yet the jinns know they will be brought before Him. 158 God is too glorious for what they ascribe to Him 159 Except the bondmen of Allah sincere. 160 So surely you and what you worship, 161 you shall tempt none against Him 162 Except he who is to [enter and] burn in the Hellfire. 163 [All forces of nature praise God and say:] "Among us, too, there is none but has a place assigned to it [by Him]; 164 We stand in ranks (for prayer) 165 and we glorify God". 166 They used to say: 167 "If only we had a tradition [to this effect] from our forebears, 168 We would have been the chosen creatures of God." 169 Yet they disbelieve therein. Presently they shall come to know. 170 And surely Our word has gone forth respecting Our servants, the messengers: 171 That undoubtedly, only they will be helped. 172 And most surely Our host alone shall be the victorious ones. 173 So, [O Muhammad], leave them for a time. 174 and see them [for what they are]; and in time they [too] will come to see [what they do not see now]. 175 Do they really wish to hasten Our punishment? 176 But when it shall descend in their court, evil shall then be the morning of the warned ones. 177 Withdraw from them awhile 178 and see [them for what they are]; and in time they [too] will come to see [what they do not see now]. 179 Exalted is your Lord, the Lord of might, above what they describe. 180 So peace be on the messengers, 181 And all praise unto Allah the Lord of the worlds. 182
Almighty God's Truth.
