And verily Yunus was of the sent ones. 139 He fled to the overloaded ship. 140 And lots were cast (when a storm overtook them), he was rejected, (and thrown overboard). 141 And the fish swallowed him while he was blameworthy; 142 Now had he not been of those that glorify God, 143 he would certainly have remained in its belly till the Day of Resurrection. 144 ۞ We then put him ashore on a plain, and he was sick. 145 We made a plant of gourd grow up for him. 146 And We sent him towards a hundred thousand people, in fact more. 147 And they believed, so We gave them enjoyment [of life] for a time. 148 Now ask them their opinion: Is it that thy Lord has (only) daughters, and they have sons?- 149 Or did We create the angels females while they were witnesses? 150 Now surely it is of their own lie that they say: 151 "Allah has begotten children"? but they are liars! 152 Has He chosen daughters in preference to sons? 153 Woe to you! How terrible is your Judgment. 154 Why do you not reflect? 155 Or do you have a clear authority? 156 Bring your Book, if what you say is true! 157 They claim that He has kinship with the jinn, yet the jinn themselves know that they will be produced before Him [for judgement]. 158 God is too glorious to be described as they describe Him 159 Not thus, however, [behave] God's true servants: 160 You and whatever you worship 161 cannot mislead anyone 162 Except those who are predestined to burn in Hell! 163 The angels say, "Each of us has an appointed place. 164 And indeed, we are those who line up [for prayer]. 165 Lo! we, even we are they who hymn His praise 166 They used to say before: 167 Had we but an admonition as had the ancients. 168 we would surely have been God's chosen servants," 169 Yet (now that it is come) they disbelieve therein; but they will come to know. 170 Already has Our Word been passed before (this) to our Servants sent (by Us), 171 Most surely they shall be the assisted ones 172 and Our host -- they are the victors. 173 So, (O Prophet), leave them alone for a while, 174 and see them; soon they shall see! 175 What! would they then hasten on Our chastisement? 176 But when it shall descend in their court, evil shall then be the morning of the warned ones. 177 And turn away from them for some time. 178 And see thou: they themselves shall presently see. 179 Glorified be thy Lord, the Lord of Majesty, from that which they attribute (unto Him) 180 And Peace on the messengers! 181 And praise belongs to Allah, Lord of the Worlds. 182
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
