Hizb 46
< random >
Jonah, too, was one of the Messengers. 139 Recall what time he ran away unto a laden ship. 140 He (agreed to) cast lots, and he was condemned: 141 then the whale swallowed him down, and he blameworthy. 142 And had he not been of those who exalt Allah, 143 He would certainly have remained inside the Fish till the Day of Resurrection. 144 ۞ But We threw him onto the open shore while he was ill. 145 And We caused to grow, over him, a spreading plant of the gourd kind. 146 and We sent him forth to a nation of a hundred thousand or more, 147 And they believed, so We gave them enjoyment [of life] for a time. 148 Now ask them their opinion: Is it that thy Lord has (only) daughters, and they have sons?- 149 Or did We create the angels females while they were witnesses? 150 Verily, it is of their falsehood that they (Quraish pagans) say: 151 Allah hath begotten. Allah! verily they tell a lie. 152 Does He prefer sons to daughters? 153 Woe to you! How terrible is your Judgment. 154 Will ye not then receive admonition? 155 Or have you, perchance, a clear evidence [for your assertions]? 156 Then bring your book, if ye say sooth. 157 They have said that there is a relationship between Him and the jinn. The jinn certainly know that they will all be brought to suffer torment. 158 Purity is to Allah from the matters they fabricate. 159 Not (so do) the Servants of Allah, sincere and devoted. 160 So surely you and what you worship, 161 You cannot tempt [anyone] away from Him 162 Save him who will go to hell. 163 And there is none of us but has an assigned place, 164 we are the rangers, 165 and, verily, we too extol His limitless glory!" 166 And there were those who said, 167 "Had we received guidance from the people living before us, 168 we would have been sincere worshipers of Allah' 169 But they disbelieve in it (the Koran), but soon they shall know! 170 Our word had already been given before to Our votaries, the apostles, -- 171 That they verily would be made triumphant. 172 and that it is Our host that would certainly triumph. 173 So turn (away) from them for a while. 174 Watch them: they will soon see. 175 Do they want to hasten Our punishment? 176 But when it shall descend in their court, evil shall then be the morning of the warned ones. 177 Withdraw from them awhile 178 And watch, for they will soon see. 179 Too glorious is your Lord, the Lord of power, for what they ascribe to Him. 180 Peace be with the Messengers (of God). 181 and praise be to God, the Lord of all the Worlds. 182
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
