So also was Jonah among those sent (by Us). 139 When he fled on the laden ship, 140 Then he joined the lots, and was of the condemned. 141 Then he was swallowed by a large fish as he was worthy of blame. 142 Had he not been one of those who struggled hard, 143 he would have lingered in its belly till the Day they are resurrected. 144 ۞ Then We cast him on a desert shore while he was sick; 145 And We caused to grow, over him, a spreading plant of the gourd kind. 146 And We sent him (on a mission) to a hundred thousand (men) or more. 147 and they believed, and We gave them enjoyment for awhile. 148 So ask their opinion: “(Are you convinced) that your Lord should have daughters and you should have sons? 149 Or did We create the angels females while they were witnesses? 150 Is it not a lie invented by them when they say: 151 Allah has begotten; and most surely they are liars. 152 Hath He chosen daughters above sons? 153 What is the matter with you? How do you decide? 154 Why do you not reflect? 155 Do you have clear authority? 156 Then bring your book, if ye say sooth. 157 And they have invented a blood-relationship between Him and the Jinns: but the Jinns know (quite well) that they have indeed to appear (before his Judgment-Seat)! 158 Exaltations to Allah above what they describe, 159 except for God's sincere servants. 160 neither you nor what you worship 161 Can lead (any) into temptation concerning Allah, 162 Except one who is (destined) to burn in Hell. 163 "There is not one of us who does not have his appointed place," (declare the angels.) 164 “And indeed we, with our wings spread, await the command.” 165 “And indeed we are those who say His purity.” 166 And there were those who said, 167 "Had we received guidance from the people living before us, 168 "We would have indeed been the chosen slaves of Allah (true believers of Islamic Monotheism)!" 169 But they disbelieved in it, so they are going to know. 170 We decreed that Our Messenger servants 171 Most surely they shall be the assisted ones 172 and that, verily, Our hosts - they indeed - would [in the end] be victorious! 173 So withdraw from them (O Muhammad) awhile, 174 And watch, for they will (soon) see. 175 What! would they then hasten on Our chastisement? 176 But when it shall descend in their court, evil shall then be the morning of the warned ones. 177 So turn (away) from them for a while, 178 And wait, for they will soon see. 179 Hallowed be thine Lord, the Lord of Majesty, from that which they ascribe! 180 Peace be on the Messengers. 181 And all praise unto Allah the Lord of the worlds. 182
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
End of Surah: The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat). Sent down in Mecca after Animals (Al-An 'aam) before Luqmaan (Luqmaan)
