Hizb 46
< random >
And lo! Jonah verily was of those sent (to warn) 139 When he ran away (like a slave from captivity) to the ship (fully) laden, 140 And lots were cast (when a storm overtook them), he was rejected, (and thrown overboard). 141 Then the big Fish did swallow him, and he had done acts worthy of blame. 142 Had he not been one of those who glorify Allah, 143 he would certainly have remained inside the fish until the Day of Resurrection. 144 ۞ But We cast him forth on the naked shore while he was sick, 145 And We caused a tree of gourd to grow above him; 146 We sent him to a hundred thousand men or more, 147 and they believed. So We let them enjoy life for a while. 148 Now ask thou them: are there for thy Lord daughters and for them sons? 149 Did We create the angels as females the while they witnessed?” 150 Pay heed! It is their slander that they say. 151 "God has begotten [a son]"; and verily, they are lying [too, when they say,] 152 "He has chosen daughters in preference to sons"! 153 Woe to you! How terrible is your Judgment. 154 Will ye not then reflect? 155 Or, do you have a clear authority? 156 Then bring your scripture, if what you say is true. 157 And some people have invented a kinship between Him and all manner of invisible forces although [even] these invisible forces know well that, verily, they [who thus blaspheme against God] shall indeed be arraigned [before Him on Judgment Day: for] 158 limitless is God in His glory, above anything that men may devise by way of definition! 159 but not so the true servants of God, 160 So neither you nor those you worship 161 Not against Him can you cause (any) to fall into trial, 162 Except he who is to [enter and] burn in the Hellfire. 163 (Gabriel said to the Prophet): 'Each of us has a known place. 164 Lo! we, even we are they who set the ranks, 165 "And we are verily those who declare (Allah's) glory!" 166 AND, INDEED, they [who deny the truth] have always been wont to say, 167 'If only we had had a Reminder from the ancients, 168 We would have been the chosen servants of Allah." 169 They have rejected the Quran. They will soon know the consequences (of their disbelief). 170 for, long ago has Our word gone forth unto Our servants, the message-bearers, 171 Most surely they shall be the assisted ones 172 and that Our army will be triumphant. 173 So turn away (O Muhammad SAW) from them for a while, 174 And watch them, for they will soon see. 175 Do they seek to hasten on Our Torment? 176 Then when it descendeth unto them face to face, a hapless morn that shall be for those who were warned. 177 Leave them alone for a while, 178 and watch. They, too, will watch. 179 Glory be to thy Lord, the Lord of Glory, above that they describe! 180 And Peace on the messengers! 181 And all praise to God, the Lord of all the worlds. 182
God Almighty has spoken the truth.
End of Surah: The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat). Sent down in Mecca after Animals (Al-An 'aam) before Luqmaan (Luqmaan)
