And Yunus was most surely of the apostles. 139 when he ran away to the laden ship 140 Then he joined the lots, and was of the condemned. 141 The fish swallowed him up and he deserved (all this). 142 Had he not been one of those who struggled hard, 143 He would have tarried in the belly thereof till the Day when they are raised. 144 ۞ But We caused him to be cast forth on to the beach, sick as he was, 145 and caused a creeping plant to grow over him [out of the barren soil]. 146 Then We sent him unto a hundred thousand, or more, 147 and they believed in him: so We let them live in ease for a while. 148 Now ask them their opinion: Is it that thy Lord has (only) daughters, and they have sons?- 149 Have We created the angels as females before their very eyes? 150 Is it not that they say, from their own invention, 151 " Allah has begotten," and indeed, they are liars. 152 Has He (then) chosen daughters rather than sons? 153 “What is the matter with you? What sort of a judgement you impose!” 154 Will ye not then receive admonition? 155 Or have you a clear authority? 156 Produce, then, that divine writ of yours, if you are speaking the truth! 157 They link Him with jinns by lineage, yet the jinns know they will be brought before Him. 158 Exalted is Allah above what they describe, 159 except the servants of God, sincere and devoted. 160 for, verily, neither you [blasphemers] nor the objects of your worship 161 you shall tempt none against Him 162 Except one who is (destined) to burn in Hell. 163 [All forces of nature praise God and say:] "Among us, too, there is none but has a place assigned to it [by Him]; 164 Verily we range ourselves in rows (as humble servants) 165 And verily we! we hallow. 166 And indeed, the disbelievers used to say, 167 "Had we received guidance from the people living before us, 168 "We would have indeed been the chosen slaves of Allah (true believers of Islamic Monotheism)!" 169 But they disbelieved in it; soon they shall know! 170 And Our word has already preceded for Our servants, the messengers, 171 [That] indeed, they would be those given victory 172 and that Our hosts shall triumph. 173 Hence, turn thou aside for a while from those [who deny the truth,] 174 And see them thou; they themselves shall presently see. 175 Do they really wish to hasten Our punishment? 176 But when it shall descend in their court, evil shall then be the morning of the warned ones. 177 So turn away from them for a time 178 And watch and they shall see (the torment)! 179 Glory be to your Lord: the Lord of Glory is far above what they attribute to Him. 180 And peace be on the Messengers! 181 And all praise is due to God alone, the Sustainer of all the worlds! 182
God the Almighty always says the truth.
End of Surah: The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat). Sent down in Mecca after Animals (Al-An 'aam) before Luqmaan (Luqmaan)
