Hizb 46
< random >
And indeed, Jonah was among the messengers. 139 [Mention] when he ran away to the laden ship. 140 and sailed away in a laden ship, wherein people cast lots. Because he lost, he was thrown into the water. 141 and the fish swallowed him while he was blaming himself. 142 And had he not been one of those who glorify (Allah) 143 He would have tarried in the belly thereof till the Day when they are raised. 144 ۞ but We caused him to be cast forth on a desert shore, sick [at heart] as he was, 145 and We caused a pumpkin tree to grow over him. 146 We sent him to a hundred thousand men or more, 147 And they believed, so We gave them provision till a time. 148 Now ask them if their Lord has daughters, and they sons? 149 Have We created the angels as females before their very eyes? 150 Oh, verily, it is out of their own [inclination to] falsehood that some people assert, 151 "God has begotten (children)?" They are liars indeed! 152 Has He (then) chosen daughters rather than sons? 153 What is the matter with you? How judge ye? 154 What, will you not remember? 155 Or have you a clear authority? 156 Then produce your scriptures, if you are telling the truth. 157 And they have claimed between Him and the jinn a lineage, but the jinn have already known that they [who made such claims] will be brought to [punishment]. 158 limitless is God in His glory, above anything that men may devise by way of definition! 159 except for God's sincere servants. 160 for, verily, neither you [blasphemers] nor the objects of your worship 161 can cause anyone to fall prey to your temptation 162 except him who shall roast in Hell. 163 (Gabriel said to the Prophet): 'Each of us has a known place. 164 We stand in ranks (for prayer) 165 Verily, we (angels), we are they who glorify (Allah's Praises i.e. perform prayers). 166 Even though they (unbelievers) say, 167 “If only we had the Reminder which had been granted to the people of yore 168 we would surely have been Allah's chosen servants.” 169 but they have rejected it, [the Quran] and they shall soon learn! 170 And assuredly Our word hath already gone forth Our bondmen, the sent ones: 171 That they verily would be made triumphant. 172 and Our armies shall be the victors. 173 So, [O Muhammad], leave them for a time. 174 and see them [for what they are]; and in time they [too] will come to see [what they do not see now]. 175 Do they really wish to hasten Our punishment? 176 But when it cometh home to them, then it will be a hapless morn for those who have been warned. 177 And turn away from them for some time. 178 and see, soon they shall see! 179 Your Lord, the Lord of Honor, is too exalted to be considered as they describe Him. 180 and peace be upon the Messengers, 181 And praise be to Allah, Lord of the Worlds! 182
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.
