Hizb 46
< random >
And lo! Jonah verily was of those sent (to warn) 139 [Mention] when he ran away to the laden ship. 140 and cast lots, and he was among the losers (of the lots that were cast). 141 The fish swallowed him up and he deserved (all this). 142 And had he not been of those who exalt Allah, 143 he would have tarried in its belly until the day they shall be raised; 144 ۞ But We cast him, upon the shore, and he was ill, 145 And We caused a plant of gourd to grow over him. 146 We sent him to a hundred thousand men or more, 147 And they believed, therefor We gave them comfort for a while. 148 Now ask them whether your Lord has daughters, whereas they have sons. 149 Or did We create the angels as females while they were witnesses?" 150 It is only because of their false invention that they say, 151 That “Allah has offspring”; and indeed, surely, they are liars. 152 “Has he chosen daughters instead of sons?” 153 What is the matter with you? How judge ye? 154 “So do you not ponder?” 155 Or have you a clear authority? 156 Then produce your scriptures, if you are telling the truth. 157 And some people have invented a kinship between Him and all manner of invisible forces although [even] these invisible forces know well that, verily, they [who thus blaspheme against God] shall indeed be arraigned [before Him on Judgment Day: for] 158 Glorified be Allah from that which they attribute (unto Him), 159 Except the chosen bondmen of Allah. 160 You and whatever you worship 161 you shall tempt none against Him 162 Except he who is to [enter and] burn in the Hellfire. 163 The angels say, "Each of us has an appointed place. 164 we are those who stand ranged in ranks. 165 And indeed, we are those who exalt Allah." 166 Even though they (unbelievers) say, 167 "If only we had had before us a Message from those of old, 168 we would certainly be true servants of God." 169 But they disbelieve in it (the Koran), but soon they shall know! 170 Our Word had already preceded Our worshipers, the Messengers, 171 [That] indeed, they would be those given victory 172 and that, verily, Our hosts - they indeed - would [in the end] be victorious! 173 So turn away (O Muhammad SAW) from them for a while, 174 And watch, for they will (soon) see. 175 Do they seek to hasten on Our Torment? 176 But then, once it alights upon them, hapless will be the awakening of those who were warned [to no avail]! 177 And leave them for a time. 178 And watch, for they will soon see. 179 Exalted be your Lord, the Lord of Glory, above what they attribute to Him, 180 And peace be on the apostles. 181 and praise be to God, the Lord of all the Worlds. 182
True are the words of God the Almighty.
