Hizb 46
< random >
And lo! Jonah verily was of those sent (to warn) 139 When he ran away (like a slave from captivity) to the ship (fully) laden, 140 Then he joined the lots, and was of the condemned. 141 The fish then swallowed him and he blamed himself. (For not waiting for Allah’s command.) 142 But had it not been that he was of those who glorify (Us), 143 He would have stayed in its belly till the day the dead are raised. 144 ۞ But We cast him forth on the naked shore in a state of sickness, 145 and We caused a pumpkin tree to grow over him. 146 Then We sent him to a hundred thousand or more, 147 So they accepted faith We therefore gave them usage for a while. 148 AND NOW ask them to enlighten thee: Has thy Sustainer daughters, whereas they would have [only] sons? 149 or is it that We have created the angels female, and they [who believe them to be divine] have witnessed [that act of creation]? 150 Is it not a lie invented by them when they say: 151 God hath begotten. Verily they are the liars. 152 "He has chosen daughters in preference to sons"! 153 What is the matter with you? How judge ye? 154 Will you not then remember? 155 Do you have any clear authority for such claims? 156 Then bring your book, if ye say sooth. 157 And they imagine kinship between him and the jinn, whereas the jinn know well that they will be brought before (Him). 158 Glorified is Allah! (He is Free) from what they attribute unto Him! 159 But not so the servants of Allah, the purified ones. 160 For, verily, neither ye nor those ye worship- 161 You cannot make anyone rebel against Him. 162 except for he who shall roast in Hell. 163 "There is not one of us who does not have his appointed place," (declare the angels.) 164 "And we are truly those who stand in rows, 165 and we are of those who glorify Allah.” 166 And indeed they (Arab pagans) used to say; 167 If we had but a reminder from the men of old 168 we would surely have been God's chosen servants," 169 Yet now (that it has come) they refuse to believe in it; but they will come to know soon. 170 Our word had already been given before to Our votaries, the apostles, -- 171 That they verily would be made triumphant. 172 and that Our army will be triumphant. 173 Therefore turn away from them for some time. 174 And watch, for they will (soon) see. 175 What! would they then hasten on Our chastisement? 176 But when it shall descend in their court, evil shall then be the morning of the warned ones. 177 Hence, turn thou aside for a while from them, 178 and see, soon they shall see! 179 Glory be to your Lord, the Lord of Honor, above what they describe. 180 Peace be on the Messengers. 181 It is only God, the Lord of the Universe, who deserves all praise. 182
Almighty God's Truth.
End of Surah: The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat). Sent down in Mecca after Animals (Al-An 'aam) before Luqmaan (Luqmaan)
