Hizb 46
< random >
Jonah, too, was one of the Messengers. 139 When he fled on the laden ship, 140 He (agreed to) cast lots, and he was among the losers, 141 Then a fish swallowed him, and he was blameworthy. 142 And had he not been of those who hallow Him, 143 he would have lingered in its belly till the Day they are resurrected. 144 ۞ But We cast him forth on the naked shore in a state of sickness, 145 and We caused to grow over him a tree of gourds. 146 And We sent him to a hundred thousand (people) or even more. 147 and they believed in him: so We let them live in ease for a while. 148 Now, ask them, has your Lord daughters, and they sons? 149 Or created We the angels females while they were witnesses? 150 No indeed! It is one of their fabrications when they say: 151 "Allah has begotten off spring or children (i.e. angels are the daughters of Allah)?" And, verily, they are liars! 152 “Has he chosen daughters instead of sons?” 153 What aileth you? How judge ye? 154 Will ye not then receive admonition? 155 Or, do you have a clear authority? 156 Then bring your book, if you are truthful. 157 They have established a kinship between Allah and the angels; and the angels know well that these people will be arraigned (as culprits). 158 Purity is to Allah from the matters they fabricate. 159 But not so the servants of Allah, the purified ones. 160 But as for you, and that you serve, 161 cannot mislead anyone 162 except those who are doomed to enter hell. 163 There is not one of us but hath his known position. 164 We are surely those who are arranged in ranks. 165 And indeed, we are those who exalt Allah." 166 And there were those who said, 167 If we had but a reminder from the men of old 168 We would have been the chosen servants of Allah." 169 But when it came to them, they rejected it. They shall soon come to know (the end of such an attitude). 170 And surely Our word has gone forth respecting Our servants, the messengers: 171 That verily they! they shall be made triumphant. 172 And verily Our host! they are to be overcome. 173 So turn (away) from them for a while. 174 And see [what will befall] them, for they are going to see. 175 Do they want to suffer Our torment immediately? 176 When it descends on their courtyards, how terrible that morning will be for those who were warned! 177 And turn thou aside from them for a season. 178 And watch (how they fare) and they soon shall see (how thou farest)! 179 Purity is to your Lord, the Lord of Honour, from all what they say. 180 And peace be upon the Envoys; 181 and all praise be to Allah, the Lord of the Universe. 182
Almighty God's Truth.
