Hizb 46

Jonah too was one of the messengers. 139 when he ran away to the laden ship 140 And lots were cast (when a storm overtook them), he was rejected, (and thrown overboard). 141 then the whale swallowed him down, and he blameworthy. 142 Had he not been one of those who acknowledge the glory of God, 143 he would certainly have remained inside the fish till the Day of Resurrection. 144 ۞ But We cast him, upon the shore, and he was ill, 145 We made a plant of gourd grow up for him. 146 And We sent him to [his people of] a hundred thousand or more. 147 and they believed. So We let them enjoy life for a while. 148 So ask their opinion: “(Are you convinced) that your Lord should have daughters and you should have sons? 149 Or that have We created the angels as females, while they were present? 150 Pay heed! It is their slander that they say. 151 God hath begotten. Verily they are the liars. 152 "He has chosen daughters in preference to sons"! 153 What is amiss with you and your judgment? 154 Will ye not then receive admonition? 155 Or have you, perchance, a clear evidence [for your assertions]? 156 Bring your book if what you say is true. 157 They have set up a kinship between Him and the jinn; and the jinn know that they shall be arraigned. 158 Glory be to Allah (for freedom) from what they describe; 159 except for the sincere worshipers of Allah. 160 So you and your deities 161 shall not be able to tempt anyone away from Allah 162 Except those who are predestined to burn in Hell! 163 There is not one of us but hath his known position. 164 "And we are truly those who stand in rows, 165 and, verily, we too extol His limitless glory!" 166 What though they would say, 167 Had we but an admonition as had the ancients. 168 then were we God's sincere servants.' 169 But (now that the Qur'an has come), they reject it: But soon will they know! 170 for, long ago has Our word gone forth unto Our servants, the message-bearers, 171 that it is certainly they who will be helped; 172 And that certainly Our armies will be victorious. 173 Therefore turn away from them for some time. 174 And watch them, for they will soon see. 175 Do they seek to hasten Our chastisement? 176 But then, once it alights upon them, hapless will be the awakening of those who were warned [to no avail]! 177 So turn thou from them for a while, 178 And watch; they will come to know soon. 179 Glory be to thy Lord, the Lord of Glory, above that they describe! 180 And peace be unto the sent ones. 181 And all praise to God, the Lord of all the worlds. 182
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
End of Surah: The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat). Sent down in Mecca after Animals (Al-An 'aam) before Luqmaan (Luqmaan)
