Hizb 46
< random >
And, verily, Yunus (Jonah) was one of the Messengers. 139 Recall what time he ran away unto a laden ship. 140 He (agreed to) cast lots, and he was condemned: 141 The fish swallowed him up and he deserved (all this). 142 And had he not been of those who hallow Him, 143 He would have tarried in the belly thereof till the Day when they are raised. 144 ۞ but We cast him upon the wilderness, and he was sick, 145 We made a plant of gourd grow up for him. 146 And [then] We sent him [once again] to [his people,] a hundred thousand [souls] or more: 147 And they believed; so We gave them enjoyment for a while. 148 (Muhammad), ask them, "Do daughters belong to your Lord and sons to them? 149 Or created We the angels females while they were witnesses? 150 Verily, it is of their falsehood that they (Quraish pagans) say: 151 Allah has begotten; and most surely they are liars. 152 Has He chosen daughters over sons? 153 What is amiss with you and your judgment? 154 Then will you not be reminded? 155 Or have you received some clear authority? 156 Then produce your scriptures, if you are telling the truth. 157 They claim that He has kinship with the jinn, yet the jinn themselves know that they will be produced before Him [for judgement]. 158 God is too glorious to be described as they describe Him 159 Save single-minded slaves of Allah. 160 You and whatever you worship 161 Cannot lead astray [turn away from Him (Allah) anyone of the believers], 162 Except the one who will go into the blazing fire. 163 (Those ranged in ranks say): "Not one of us but has a place appointed; 164 we are those who stand ranged in ranks. 165 Lo! we, even we are they who hymn His praise 166 And indeed, the disbelievers used to say, 167 If we had but a reminder from the men of old 168 we would have certainly been sincere servants of God". 169 Yet they disbelieve therein. Presently they shall come to know. 170 Already has Our Word been passed before (this) to our Servants sent (by Us), 171 That they would certainly be assisted, 172 and Our armies shall be the victors. 173 Therefore turn away from them for some time. 174 And watch them and they shall see (the punishment)! 175 Would they hasten on Our doom? 176 When it descends on their courtyards, how terrible that morning will be for those who were warned! 177 So turn thou away from them for a little while, 178 And see thou: they themselves shall presently see. 179 Your Lord, the Lord of Honor, is too exalted to be considered as they describe Him. 180 and peace be upon the Messengers, 181 and praise belongs to God, the Lord of all Being. 182
Almighty God's Truth.
