Hizb 46
< random >
And lo! Jonah verily was of those sent (to warn) 139 when he ran away to the laden ship 140 He (agreed to) cast lots, and he was condemned: 141 Then a fish swallowed him, and he was blameworthy. 142 Had he not glorified God, 143 He would have tarried in the belly thereof till the Day when they are raised. 144 ۞ but We cast him upon the wilderness, and he was sick, 145 and We caused a gourd tree to grow over him. 146 And We sent him to [his people of] a hundred thousand or more. 147 And they believed; so We permitted them to enjoy (their life) for a while. 148 Therefore ask them (O dear Prophet Mohammed peace and blessings be upon him), whether the daughters are for your Lord and the sons for them! 149 Or that We created the angels female, and they are witnesses (thereto)? 150 Then is it of their lying that they say: 151 Allah has begotten; and most surely they are liars. 152 Has He (then) chosen daughters rather than sons? 153 What is the matter with you? How do you judge? 154 Will you not then remember? 155 Or have ye a clear warrant? 156 Then produce your writ, if ye are truthful. 157 And some people have invented a kinship between Him and all manner of invisible forces although [even] these invisible forces know well that, verily, they [who thus blaspheme against God] shall indeed be arraigned [before Him on Judgment Day: for] 158 God is too glorious for what they ascribe to Him 159 Except the slaves of Allah, whom He choses (for His Mercy i.e. true believers of Islamic Monotheism who do not attribute false things unto Allah). 160 Lo! verily, ye and that which ye worship, 161 Ye cannot excite (anyone) against Him. 162 Save him who is to burn in hell. 163 (Gabriel said to the Prophet): 'Each of us has a known place. 164 And most surely we are they who draw themselves out in ranks, 165 and, verily, we too extol His limitless glory!" 166 And indeed they (Arab pagans) used to say; 167 "If only we had had before us a Message from those of old, 168 Surely we would have been the bondmen of God sincere. 169 Yet (now that it is come) they disbelieve therein; but they will come to know. 170 And verily Our word went forth of old unto Our bondmen sent (to warn) 171 That undoubtedly, only they will be helped. 172 And that Our hosts, they verily would be the victors. 173 Therefore turn away from them till a time, 174 And see them thou; they themselves shall presently see. 175 What, do they seek to hasten Our chastisement? 176 When it comes down on their plains, it will be an evil dawn for those who had been warned. 177 And turn away from them till a time 178 and see [them for what they are]; and in time they [too] will come to see [what they do not see now]. 179 Your Lord, the Lord of Honor, is too exalted to be considered as they describe Him. 180 And peace be unto the sent ones. 181 It is only God, the Lord of the Universe, who deserves all praise. 182
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
End of Surah: The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat). Sent down in Mecca after Animals (Al-An 'aam) before Luqmaan (Luqmaan)
