So also was Jonah among those sent (by Us). 139 When he left towards the laden ship. 140 So he shared (with them), but was of those who are cast off. 141 then the whale swallowed him down, and he blameworthy. 142 And had he not been one of those who glorify (Allah) 143 he would have lingered in its belly till the Day they are resurrected. 144 ۞ We cast him out of the fish unto dry land and he was sick. 145 and caused a gourd tree to grow over him, 146 We sent him to a hundred thousand or more people. 147 And they believed, so We gave them provision till a time. 148 Now, ask them, has your Lord daughters, and they sons? 149 Or did We create the angels females while they were witnesses? 150 Behold, it is one of their fabrications that they say: 151 “Allah has begotten.” They are liars! 152 “Has he chosen daughters instead of sons?” 153 What is [wrong] with you? How do you make judgement? 154 Will ye not then receive admonition? 155 Or have you received some clear authority? 156 Then produce your scriptures, if you are telling the truth. 157 And they have appointed a relationship between Him and the jinns; and indeed the jinns surely know that they will be brought forth. 158 Exalted is Allah above what they describe, 159 Except the chosen servants of Allah [who do not share in that sin]. 160 So, verily you (pagans) and those whom you worship (idols). 161 you shall tempt none against Him 162 except him who shall roast in Hell. 163 There is not one of us but hath his known position. 164 and, verily, we too are ranged [before Him in worship]; 165 And we are most surely they who declare the glory (of Allah). 166 Even though they (unbelievers) say, 167 “If we had some advice from the earlier generations,” – 168 We would certainly have been the servants of Allah-- the purified ones. 169 but they have rejected it, [the Quran] and they shall soon learn! 170 And certainly Our word has already gone forth in respect of Our servants, the apostles: 171 That verily they! they shall be made triumphant. 172 And verily Our host! they are to be overcome. 173 So turn thou away from them for a little while, 174 and watch them. They, too, will watch. 175 Do they seek to hasten Our chastisement? 176 But then, once it alights upon them, hapless will be the awakening of those who were warned [to no avail]! 177 So turn thou from them for a while, 178 And watch, for they will soon see. 179 Glorified be thy Lord, the Lord of Majesty, from that which they attribute (unto Him) 180 And peace upon the messengers. 181 And all praise is to Allah, the Lord Of The Creation. 182
