Hizb 46
< random >
And lo! Jonah verily was of those sent (to warn) 139 When he fled on the laden ship, 140 and cast lots, and was of the rebutted, 141 [and they cast him into the sea,] whereupon the great fish swallowed him, for he had been blameworthy. 142 But had it not been that he was of those who glorify (Us), 143 He would have remained in its belly till the day when all will be raised. 144 ۞ But We cast him forth on the naked shore while he was sick, 145 And We made a gourd tree grow over him. 146 And [then] We sent him [once again] to [his people,] a hundred thousand [souls] or more: 147 They believed in him so We granted them enjoyment for an appointed time. 148 Now ask them (O Muhammad): Hath thy Lord daughters whereas they have sons? 149 Or did We create the angels females, while they were witnesses? 150 Verily, it is of their falsehood that they (Quraish pagans) say: 151 “Allah has begotten.” They are liars! 152 Did He choose daughters rather than sons? 153 What is the matter with you? How do you form your judgement? 154 Will you not then mind? 155 Do you have any clear authority for such claims? 156 Then bring ye your Book (of authority) if ye be truthful! 157 And they have appointed a relationship between Him and the jinns; and indeed the jinns surely know that they will be brought forth. 158 limitless is God in His glory, above anything that men may devise by way of definition! 159 Except the chosen bondmen of Allah. 160 You and whatever you worship 161 You cannot make anyone rebel against Him. 162 Save him who is to burn in hell. 163 [All forces of nature praise God and say:] "Among us, too, there is none but has a place assigned to it [by Him]; 164 we are the rangers, 165 We glorify God." 166 And surely they used to say: 167 "If we had had with us a Book like that of the people of old, 168 we would surely have been God's chosen servants," 169 But (now) they disbelieve in it, so they will come to know. 170 Already has Our Word been passed before (this) to our Servants sent (by Us), 171 that they shall receive Our help 172 and Our armies shall be the victors. 173 Hence, turn thou aside for a while from those [who deny the truth,] 174 And watch, for they will (soon) see. 175 What! would they then hasten on Our chastisement? 176 When it comes down on their plains, it will be an evil dawn for those who had been warned. 177 And turn thou aside from them for a season. 178 and see; soon they shall see! 179 Glory be to your Lord, the Lord of Honor, above what they describe. 180 And Peace on the messengers! 181 And all praise to God, the Lord of all the worlds. 182
God the Almighty always says the truth.
