Hizb 46
< random >
And indeed, Jonah was among the messengers. 139 When he ran away (like a slave from captivity) to the ship (fully) laden, 140 and cast lots, and he was among the losers (of the lots that were cast). 141 Then a fish swallowed him, and he was blameworthy. 142 Had he not been of them who glorify Allah, 143 he would have lingered in its belly till the Day they are resurrected. 144 ۞ but We cast him upon the wilderness, and he was sick, 145 and We caused a pumpkin tree to grow over him. 146 And We sent him towards a hundred thousand people, in fact more. 147 They believed in him so We granted them enjoyment for an appointed time. 148 Therefore ask them (O dear Prophet Mohammed peace and blessings be upon him), whether the daughters are for your Lord and the sons for them! 149 Or that We created the angels female, and they are witnesses (thereto)? 150 No indeed! It is one of their fabrications when they say: 151 'God has begotten?' They are truly liars. 152 Has He chosen daughters over sons? 153 What is the matter with you that you make such strange judgements? 154 Will ye not then receive admonition? 155 Or have ye a clear warrant? 156 Then bring ye your Book (of authority) if ye be truthful! 157 They have established a kinship between Allah and the angels; and the angels know well that these people will be arraigned (as culprits). 158 Purity is to Allah from the matters they fabricate. 159 But not so the servants of Allah, the purified ones. 160 So neither you nor those you worship 161 Ye cannot excite (anyone) against Him. 162 unless it be such as rushes towards the blazing fire [of his own accord]! 163 And there is none of us but has an assigned place, 164 We are surely those who are arranged in ranks. 165 We glorify God." 166 And indeed they (Arab pagans) used to say; 167 Had we but an admonition as had the ancients. 168 We would be single-minded slaves of Allah. 169 They therefore denied it, so they will soon come to know. 170 And Our word has already preceded for Our servants, the messengers, 171 That they would certainly be assisted, 172 And that Our forces,- they surely must conquer. 173 So turn thou from them for a while, 174 And watch them, for they will soon see. 175 Do they seek to hasten on Our Torment? 176 When it comes down on their plains, it will be an evil dawn for those who had been warned. 177 Stay away from them for a while 178 And watch; they will come to know soon. 179 Exaltations be to your Lord, the Lord of Might, above that they describe! 180 Peace be upon the Messengers 181 and praise be to God, the Lord of all the Worlds. 182
God the Almighty always says the truth.
