Hizb 46
< random >
Jonah, too, was one of the Messengers. 139 When he fled unto the laden ship, 140 and cast lots, and was of the rebutted, 141 then the whale swallowed him down, and he blameworthy. 142 And had he not been of those who hallow Him, 143 He would certainly have remained inside the Fish till the Day of Resurrection. 144 ۞ But We cast him forth on the naked shore in a state of sickness, 145 We made a plant of gourd grow up for him. 146 Then We sent him unto a hundred thousand, or more, 147 and they believed, and We gave them enjoyment for awhile. 148 Now ask them whether your Lord has daughters, whereas they have sons. 149 Or, did We create the angels females while they were witnessing? 150 Pay heed! It is their slander that they say. 151 "God has begotten (children)?" They are liars indeed! 152 Has He chosen daughters in preference to sons? 153 What ails you then, how you judge? 154 Will you not, then, bethink yourselves? 155 Or have you, perchance, a clear evidence [for your assertions]? 156 Then produce your scriptures, if you are telling the truth. 157 They link Him with jinns by lineage, yet the jinns know they will be brought before Him. 158 God is too glorious for what they ascribe to Him 159 Except the bondmen of Allah sincere. 160 neither you nor what you worship 161 cannot mislead anyone 162 Save him who is to burn in hell. 163 And there is none of us but has an assigned place, 164 And most surely we are they who draw themselves out in ranks, 165 And we are most surely they who declare the glory (of Allah). 166 They say, 167 "If we had had with us a Book like that of the people of old, 168 We would certainly have been the servants of Allah-- the purified ones. 169 but they have rejected it, [the Quran] and they shall soon learn! 170 And certainly Our word has already gone forth in respect of Our servants, the apostles: 171 that they shall receive Our help 172 And most surely Our host alone shall be the victorious ones. 173 So turn away (O Muhammad SAW) from them for a while, 174 And watch them and they shall see (the punishment)! 175 Our torment seek they to hasten on! 176 But when it shall descend in their court, evil shall then be the morning of the warned ones. 177 So turn thou away from them for a little while, 178 And watch (how they fare) and they soon shall see (how thou farest)! 179 Exalted is your Lord, the Lord of might, above what they describe. 180 So peace be on the messengers, 181 And all praise is due to God alone, the Sustainer of all the worlds! 182
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.
