Jonah was certainly a Messenger. 139 When he ran to the laden ship, 140 and cast lots, and was of the rebutted, 141 and the fish swallowed him while he was blaming himself. 142 Had he not been of them who glorify Allah, 143 He would have tarried in its belly till the day when they are raised; 144 ۞ Then We cast him on to the vacant surface of the earth while he was sick. 145 and We caused a gourd tree to grow over him. 146 And We had sent him to a hundred thousand: rather they exceeded. 147 So they accepted faith We therefore gave them usage for a while. 148 Therefore ask them (O dear Prophet Mohammed peace and blessings be upon him), whether the daughters are for your Lord and the sons for them! 149 Or did We make the angels females, and they witnessed it? 150 No indeed! It is one of their fabrications when they say: 151 "God has begotten (children)?" They are liars indeed! 152 "He has chosen daughters in preference to sons"! 153 What ails you that you judge in such a wise? 154 Will you not, then, bethink yourselves? 155 Or is there for you a plain authority? 156 Bring your Book, if what you say is true! 157 And some people have invented a kinship between Him and all manner of invisible forces although [even] these invisible forces know well that, verily, they [who thus blaspheme against God] shall indeed be arraigned [before Him on Judgment Day: for] 158 Glorified is Allah! (He is Free) from what they attribute unto Him! 159 Except the chosen bondmen of Allah. 160 Lo! verily, ye and that which ye worship, 161 you shall not tempt any against Him 162 Save him Who is to roast in the Flaming Fire. 163 And there is none of us but has an assigned place, 164 we are the rangers, 165 "And we are verily those who declare (Allah's) glory!" 166 They used to say before: 167 Had we a reminder from those of yore, 168 We would be single-minded slaves of Allah. 169 They have rejected the Quran. They will soon know the consequences (of their disbelief). 170 We decreed that Our Messenger servants 171 [That] indeed, they would be those given victory 172 And surely, only Our army will be victorious. 173 So turn (away) from them for a while. 174 And see [what will befall] them, for they are going to see. 175 Do they really wish to hasten Our punishment? 176 Then when it descendeth unto them face to face, a hapless morn that shall be for those who were warned. 177 So turn away from them for a time 178 And watch; they will come to know soon. 179 LIMITLESS in His glory is thy Sustainer, the Lord of almightiness, [exalted] above anything that men may devise by way of definition! 180 So peace be on the messengers, 181 And all praise to God, the Lord of all the worlds. 182

When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
