Hizb 46
< random >
And Jonah too was one of the Messengers. 139 when he fled like a runaway slave onto a laden ship. 140 And he drew lots and was among the losers. 141 [and they cast him into the sea,] whereupon the great fish swallowed him, for he had been blameworthy. 142 And had he not been of those who hallow Him, 143 he would certainly have remained inside the fish till the Day of Resurrection. 144 ۞ We cast him out of the fish unto dry land and he was sick. 145 and We caused a gourd tree to grow over him. 146 And We sent him to [his people of] a hundred thousand or more. 147 and they believed, and We gave them enjoyment for awhile. 148 So ask their opinion: “(Are you convinced) that your Lord should have daughters and you should have sons? 149 Or created We the angels females while they were witnesses? 150 No indeed! It is one of their fabrications when they say: 151 Allah has begotten; and most surely they are liars. 152 Hath He chosen daughters above sons? 153 What is the matter with you? How do you decide? 154 “So do you not ponder?” 155 Or have ye a clear warrant? 156 Bring your Book, if you are truthful. 157 And they have made between Him and the jinn a kinship whereas the jinn assuredly know that they are to be brought up 158 God is too glorious for what they ascribe to Him 159 Except the chosen servants of Allah [who do not share in that sin]. 160 Wherefore verily neither ye nor that which ye worship, 161 You cannot tempt [anyone] away from Him 162 except for he who shall roast in Hell. 163 The angels say, "Each of us has an appointed place. 164 and, verily, we too are ranged [before Him in worship]; 165 and we are of those who glorify Allah.” 166 They used to say before: 167 "If we had had with us a Book like that of the people of old, 168 we would surely have been Allah's chosen servants.” 169 But (now that the Quran has come) they disbelieve therein (i.e. in the Quran and in Prophet Muhammad SAW, and all that which he brought, the Divine Revelation), so they will come to know! 170 Our Word had already preceded Our worshipers, the Messengers, 171 That undoubtedly, only they will be helped. 172 And that Our hosts, they verily would be the victors. 173 So turn away from them for a while. 174 And see [what will befall] them, for they are going to see. 175 So are they being impatient for Our punishment? 176 When it comes down on their plains, it will be an evil dawn for those who had been warned. 177 So turn away from them for a while. 178 and see; and they too shall soon see. 179 Exalted be your Lord, the Lord of Glory, above what they attribute to Him, 180 And peace be on the apostles. 181 And praise to Allah, Lord of the worlds. 182
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.

Notes and Instructions
قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
