Hizb 46
< random >
And, verily, Yunus (Jonah) was one of the Messengers. 139 He abandoned his people 140 He (agreed to) cast lots, and he was among the losers, 141 The fish then swallowed him and he blamed himself. (For not waiting for Allah’s command.) 142 Had he not been one of those who struggled hard, 143 he would have lingered in its belly till the Day they are resurrected. 144 ۞ But We caused him to be cast forth on to the beach, sick as he was, 145 and caused a creeping plant to grow over him [out of the barren soil]. 146 And We had sent him to a hundred thousand: rather they exceeded. 147 and [this time] they believed [in him] and so We allowed them to enjoy their life during the time allotted to them? 148 So ask them for a pronouncement -- Has thy Lord daughters, and they sons? 149 Or created We the angels females while they were present? 150 Lo! verily it is of their falsehood that they say: 151 "God has begotten (children)?" They are liars indeed! 152 Hath He chosen daughters above sons? 153 What is the matter with you? How do you decide? 154 What, and will you not remember? 155 Or have you, perchance, a clear evidence [for your assertions]? 156 Then bring your Book if you are truthful! 157 And they imagine kinship between him and the jinn, whereas the jinn know well that they will be brought before (Him). 158 Glory to Allah! (He is free) from the things they ascribe (to Him)! 159 Except His chosen creatures who do not. 160 Therefore you and all what you worship. (The disbelievers and their deities.) 161 You cannot tempt [anyone] away from Him 162 unless it be such as rushes towards the blazing fire [of his own accord]! 163 [The angels say], "There is not among us any except that he has a known position. 164 And indeed, we are those who line up [for prayer]. 165 and we glorify God". 166 What, would they then say: 167 "If we had a reminder as had the men of old (before the coming of Prophet Muhammad SAW as a Messenger of Allah). 168 we would surely have been God's chosen servants," 169 And yet, [now that this divine writ has been placed before them,] they refuse to acknowledge it as true! In time, however, they will come to know [what it was that they had rejected]: 170 And surely Our word has gone forth respecting Our servants, the messengers: 171 [That] indeed, they would be those given victory 172 and that, verily, Our hosts - they indeed - would [in the end] be victorious! 173 Hence, turn thou aside for a while from those [who deny the truth,] 174 And (then) see them, so they too shall see. 175 Do they really wish to hasten Our punishment? 176 But when it descends into the open space before them, evil will be the morning for those who were warned (and heeded not)! 177 And turn away from them for some time. 178 And watch; they will come to know soon. 179 Your Lord, the Lord of Honor, is too exalted to be considered as they describe Him. 180 And peace upon the messengers. 181 And all praise is due to God alone, the Sustainer of all the worlds! 182
Almighty God's Truth.
