Hizb 46
< random >
Jonah was certainly a Messenger. 139 when he ran away to the laden ship 140 And then they cast lots, and he was the one who lost; 141 Then a (big) fish swallowed him and he had done an act worthy of blame. 142 Had he not been one of those who glorify Allah, 143 he would have tarried in its belly until the day they shall be raised; 144 ۞ but We caused him to be cast forth on a desert shore, sick [at heart] as he was, 145 and We caused a pumpkin tree to grow over him. 146 And We had sent him to a hundred thousand: rather they exceeded. 147 They believed in him so We granted them enjoyment for an appointed time. 148 Now, ask them, has your Lord daughters, and they sons? 149 Have We created the angels as females before their very eyes? 150 Lo! verily it is of their falsehood that they say: 151 'God has begotten a son.' They are certainly liars. 152 Has He (then) chosen daughters rather than sons? 153 What is the matter with you? How do you judge? 154 Why do you not reflect? 155 Or have ye an authority manifest? 156 Bring your Book, if you speak truly! 157 They link Him with jinns by lineage, yet the jinns know they will be brought before Him. 158 God is far above what they attribute to Him, 159 except for God's sincere servants. 160 for, verily, neither you [blasphemers] nor the objects of your worship 161 shall not be able to tempt anyone away from Allah 162 Except those who are predestined to burn in Hell! 163 (Those ranged in ranks say): "Not one of us but has a place appointed; 164 And verily we! we are ranged in ranks. 165 We glorify God." 166 What though they would say, 167 "If only we had a tradition [to this effect] from our forebears, 168 we would surely have been God's chosen servants," 169 Yet they disbelieve therein. Presently they shall come to know. 170 Our Word had already preceded Our worshipers, the Messengers, 171 That they would certainly be assisted, 172 and that Our army will be triumphant. 173 Hence, turn thou aside for a while from those [who deny the truth,] 174 And see [what will befall] them, for they are going to see. 175 What, do they seek to hasten Our punishment? 176 But when it cometh home to them, then it will be a hapless morn for those who have been warned. 177 And turn away from them till a time 178 and see [them for what they are]; and in time they [too] will come to see [what they do not see now]. 179 Your Lord, the Lord of Honor, is too exalted to be considered as they describe Him. 180 And peace be upon all His message-bearers! 181 And praise to Allah, Lord of the worlds. 182
Almighty Allah's Truth.
