And Yunus was most surely of the apostles. 139 He abandoned his people 140 cast lots, and was among the losers. 141 then the whale swallowed him down, and he blameworthy. 142 And had he not been of those who exalt Allah, 143 He would have indeed remained inside its belly (the fish) till the Day of Resurrection. 144 ۞ We then put him ashore on a plain, and he was sick. 145 and We caused a gourd tree to grow over him. 146 And We sent him (on a mission) to a hundred thousand (men) or more. 147 They believed in him so We granted them enjoyment for an appointed time. 148 Now, ask them, has your Lord daughters, and they sons? 149 Or that We created the angels female, and they are witnesses (thereto)? 150 Now surely it is of their own lie that they say: 151 'God has begotten a son.' They are certainly liars. 152 “Has he chosen daughters instead of sons?” 153 What aileth you? How judge ye? 154 Will ye not then reflect? 155 Do you have clear authority? 156 Then bring your scripture, if what you say is true. 157 And they imagine kinship between him and the jinn, whereas the jinn know well that they will be brought before (Him). 158 Exalted is Allah above what they describe, 159 all of them except the chosen servants of Allah. 160 So surely you and what you worship, 161 you shall tempt none against Him 162 except him who shall roast in Hell. 163 And the angels say, “Each one of us has an appointed known position.” 164 Lo! we, even we are they who set the ranks, 165 and we glorify God". 166 And indeed they used to say: 167 If we had but a reminder from the men of old 168 "We should certainly have been Servants of Allah, sincere (and devoted)!" 169 Yet (now that it is come) they disbelieve therein; but they will come to know. 170 Already Our Word has preceded to Our servants, the Envoys; 171 That verily they! they shall be made triumphant. 172 And verily Our host! they are to be overcome. 173 So turn away (O Muhammad SAW) from them for a while, 174 and see them; soon they shall see! 175 Then for Our punishment are they impatient? 176 But when it descends into the open space before them, evil will be the morning for those who were warned (and heeded not)! 177 And turn away from them till a time 178 And (then) see, for they too shall see. 179 Exalted is your Lord, the Lord of might, above what they describe. 180 Peace be on the Messengers. 181 And all praise to God, the Lord of all the worlds. 182
