Hizb 46
< random >
And indeed, Jonah was among the messengers. 139 Call to mind when he fled to the laden ship, 140 Then he joined the lots, and was of the condemned. 141 And a fish swallowed him, and he was reproaching himself. 142 And had he not been of those who exalt Allah, 143 He would have indeed remained inside its belly (the fish) till the Day of Resurrection. 144 ۞ But We caused him to be cast forth on to the beach, sick as he was, 145 And We caused a plant of gourd to grow over him. 146 And [then] We sent him [once again] to [his people,] a hundred thousand [souls] or more: 147 And they believed; so We permitted them to enjoy (their life) for a while. 148 So inquire of them, [O Muhammad], "Does your Lord have daughters while they have sons? 149 Have We created the angels as females before their very eyes? 150 Pay heed! It is their slander that they say. 151 Allah has begotten; and most surely they are liars. 152 Has He chosen daughters above sons? 153 What aileth you? How judge ye? 154 Will you not, then, bethink yourselves? 155 Or have you received some clear authority? 156 Bring your Book, if you are truthful. 157 And they imagine kinship between him and the jinn, whereas the jinn know well that they will be brought before (Him). 158 (They say): “Exalted be Allah above what they attribute to Him, 159 but not so the true servants of God, 160 You and whatever you worship 161 Can mislead anyone away from Him, 162 except for he who shall roast in Hell. 163 "There is not one of us who does not have his appointed place," (declare the angels.) 164 Verily, we (angels), we stand in rows for the prayers (as you Muslims stand in rows for your prayers); 165 And we are they who exalt (Allah)' 166 What, would they then say: 167 "If we had had with us a Book like that of the people of old, 168 Surely we would have been the bondmen of God sincere. 169 But they disbelieved in it; soon they shall know! 170 And surely Our word has gone forth respecting Our servants, the messengers: 171 That undoubtedly, only they will be helped. 172 and Our armies shall be the victors. 173 So, [O Muhammad], leave them for a time. 174 and watch them. They, too, will watch. 175 Do they seek to hasten Our chastisement? 176 When that chastisement will descend upon their courtyard, evil shall that Day be for those who had been warned. 177 And turn away from them till a time 178 And watch (how they fare) and they soon shall see (how thou farest)! 179 Exalted be your Lord, the Lord of Glory, above what they attribute to Him, 180 And peace be unto the sent ones. 181 And all praise is due to Allah, the Lord of the worlds. 182
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
End of Surah: The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat). Sent down in Mecca after Animals (Al-An 'aam) before Luqmaan (Luqmaan)
