Hizb 46
< random >
Verily Jonah is one of the apostles. 139 when he ran away to the laden ship 140 and cast lots, and was of the rebutted, 141 Then he was swallowed by a large fish as he was worthy of blame. 142 And had he not been of those who exalt Allah, 143 He would have indeed remained inside its belly (the fish) till the Day of Resurrection. 144 ۞ But We caused him to be cast forth on to the beach, sick as he was, 145 We made a plant of gourd grow up for him. 146 Then We sent him to a hundred thousand or more, 147 and they believed. So We let them enjoy life for a while. 148 So inquire of them, [O Muhammad], "Does your Lord have daughters while they have sons? 149 Have We created the angels as females before their very eyes? 150 Behold, it is one of their fabrications that they say: 151 God hath begotten. Verily they are the liars. 152 Has He chosen daughters over sons? 153 What aileth you? How judge ye? 154 What, and will you not remember? 155 Or have you, perchance, a clear evidence [for your assertions]? 156 Bring your Book, if you are truthful. 157 And they assert a relationship between Him and the jinn; and certainly the jinn do know that they shall surely be brought up; 158 limitless is God in His glory, above anything that men may devise by way of definition! 159 except for God's sincere servants. 160 So you and your deities 161 cannot mislead anyone 162 unless it be such as rushes towards the blazing fire [of his own accord]! 163 [All forces of nature praise God and say:] "Among us, too, there is none but has a place assigned to it [by Him]; 164 Verily we range ourselves in rows (as humble servants) 165 Verily, we (angels), we are they who glorify (Allah's Praises i.e. perform prayers). 166 And they surely were wont to say: 167 "If we had a message from [those of] the former peoples, 168 We would certainly have been the servants of Allah-- the purified ones. 169 but they have rejected it, [the Quran] and they shall soon learn! 170 And assuredly Our word hath already gone forth Our bondmen, the sent ones: 171 Most surely they shall be the assisted ones 172 And that certainly Our armies will be victorious. 173 So, (O Prophet), leave them alone for a while, 174 And see [what will befall] them, for they are going to see. 175 Then for Our punishment are they impatient? 176 When it descends into their courtyard, it will be terrible for those who have already been warned. 177 So turn thou from them for a while, 178 and watch. They, too, will watch. 179 Glory be to your Lord, the Lord of Honor, above what they describe. 180 And peace be on the apostles. 181 And all the praise and thanks be to Allah, Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists). 182
God Almighty has spoken the truth.
End of Surah: The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat). Sent down in Mecca after Animals (Al-An 'aam) before Luqmaan (Luqmaan)
