Hizb 46
< random >
And indeed, Jonah was among the messengers. 139 When he fled unto the laden ship, 140 And then they cast lots and he was the one who lost, 141 then the whale swallowed him down, and he blameworthy. 142 And were he not one of those who praise. 143 he would certainly have remained in its belly till the Day of Resurrection. 144 ۞ But We cast him, upon the shore, and he was ill, 145 and caused a creeping plant to grow over him [out of the barren soil]. 146 Then We sent him to a hundred thousand or more, 147 and they believed. So We let them enjoy life for a while. 148 So ask their opinion: “(Are you convinced) that your Lord should have daughters and you should have sons? 149 Or did We create the angels females while they were witnesses? 150 It is only because of their false invention that they say, 151 "God has begotten [a son]"; and verily, they are lying [too, when they say,] 152 Has He chosen daughters above sons? 153 Woe to you! How terrible is your Judgment. 154 Will you then not take heed? 155 Or have ye a clear warrant? 156 Then bring ye your Book (of authority) if ye be truthful! 157 And they have invented a kinship between Him and the jinns, but the jinns know well that they have indeed to appear (before Him) (i.e. they will be brought for accounts). 158 Glorified be Allah from that which they attribute (unto Him), 159 except for God's sincere servants. 160 So indeed, you [disbelievers] and whatever you worship, 161 You cannot tempt [anyone] away from Him 162 Save him who will go to hell. 163 The angels say, "Each of us has an appointed place. 164 we are the rangers, 165 we are they that give glory. 166 They say, 167 Had we a reminder from those of yore, 168 Surely we would have been the bondmen of God sincere. 169 Yet now (that it has come) they refuse to believe in it; but they will come to know soon. 170 Our word had already been given before to Our votaries, the apostles, -- 171 that, verily, they - they indeed - would be succoured, 172 And that Our hosts, they verily would be the victors. 173 So withdraw from them (O Muhammad) awhile, 174 and watch them. They, too, will watch. 175 What, do they seek to hasten Our punishment? 176 But when it descends into the open space before them, evil will be the morning for those who were warned (and heeded not)! 177 So turn (away) from them for a while, 178 And watch; they will come to know soon. 179 Glorified be your Lord, the Lord of Honour and Power! (He is free) from what they attribute unto Him! 180 and peace be upon the Messengers, 181 and all praise be to Allah, the Lord of the Universe. 182
God the Almighty always says the truth.
End of Surah: The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat). Sent down in Mecca after Animals (Al-An 'aam) before Luqmaan (Luqmaan)
