Hizb 46

Jonah too was one of the messengers. 139 He ran away to the laden ship, 140 And lots were cast (when a storm overtook them), he was rejected, (and thrown overboard). 141 Then a fish swallowed him, and he was blameworthy. 142 And had he not been one of those who glorify (Allah) 143 he would have tarried in its belly until the day they shall be raised; 144 ۞ We cast him out of the fish unto dry land and he was sick. 145 And We caused to grow over him a tree, a gourd. 146 And We sent him towards a hundred thousand people, in fact more. 147 And they believed, so We gave them provision till a time. 148 So ask their opinion: “(Are you convinced) that your Lord should have daughters and you should have sons? 149 Did We create the angels females, to which they were witnesses? 150 Pay heed! It is their slander that they say. 151 "God has begotten children." They are truly liars. 152 Has He chosen daughters over sons? 153 What is amiss with you and your judgment? 154 Will ye not then receive admonition? 155 Or have you clear evidence? 156 Then produce your writ, if ye are truthful. 157 And they have invented a blood-relationship between Him and the Jinns: but the Jinns know (quite well) that they have indeed to appear (before his Judgment-Seat)! 158 Exalted is Allah above what they describe, 159 except for God's sincere servants. 160 But as for you, and that you worship, 161 you shall tempt none against Him 162 Except such as are (themselves) going to the blazing Fire! 163 (Gabriel said to the Prophet): 'Each of us has a known place. 164 we are those who stand ranged in ranks. 165 Lo! we, even we are they who hymn His praise 166 And indeed the disbelievers used to say, 167 If we had but a reminder from the men of old 168 We would have been the chosen servants of Allah." 169 But (now that the Quran has come) they disbelieve therein (i.e. in the Quran and in Prophet Muhammad SAW, and all that which he brought, the Divine Revelation), so they will come to know! 170 We have already given Our promise to Our Messengers 171 That they would be helped, 172 And verily Our host! they are to be overcome. 173 So you ignore them for a time 174 And watch them and they shall see (the punishment)! 175 So are they being impatient for Our punishment? 176 When it descends on their courtyards, how terrible that morning will be for those who were warned! 177 Hence, turn thou aside for a while from them, 178 and see [them for what they are]; and in time they [too] will come to see [what they do not see now]. 179 Glorified be thy Lord, the Lord of Majesty, from that which they attribute (unto Him) 180 Peace be on the Messengers. 181 And Praise to Allah, the Lord and Cherisher of the Worlds. 182
Almighty God's Truth.
