Hizb 46

So also was Jonah among those sent (by Us). 139 He fled to the overloaded ship. 140 He (agreed to) cast lots, and he was among the losers, 141 and the fish swallowed him while he was blaming himself. 142 Had he not glorified God, 143 he would have lingered in its belly till the Day they are resurrected. 144 ۞ Then We cast him on a desert shore while he was sick; 145 and We caused a gourd tree to grow over him. 146 Then We sent him to a hundred thousand or more, 147 And they believed, so We gave them provision till a time. 148 Now ask them (O Muhammad): Hath thy Lord daughters whereas they have sons? 149 or is it that We have created the angels female, and they [who believe them to be divine] have witnessed [that act of creation]? 150 Behold, it is one of their fabrications that they say: 151 "God has begotten (children)?" They are liars indeed! 152 Has He chosen daughters in preference to sons? 153 What is the matter with you, how is it that you judge? 154 What, and will you not remember? 155 Or, is there for you a clear warranty 156 “Then bring forth your Book, if you are truthful!” 157 They have established a kinship between Allah and the angels; and the angels know well that these people will be arraigned (as culprits). 158 Glorified is Allah! (He is Free) from what they attribute unto Him! 159 Except the chosen servants of Allah [who do not share in that sin]. 160 neither you nor what you worship 161 you shall not tempt any against Him 162 except for he who shall roast in Hell. 163 And there is none of us but has an assigned place, 164 "And we are truly those who stand in rows, 165 “And indeed we are those who say His purity.” 166 They used to say: 167 "If only we had a tradition [to this effect] from our forebears, 168 we would have been sincere worshipers of Allah' 169 Yet now (that it has come) they refuse to believe in it; but they will come to know soon. 170 And, verily, Our Word has gone forth of old for Our slaves, the Messengers, 171 [That] indeed, they would be those given victory 172 and that it is Our host that would certainly triumph. 173 So withdraw from them (O Muhammad) awhile, 174 and see, and soon they too shall see. 175 Do they really wish to hasten Our punishment? 176 When it descends on their courtyards, how terrible that morning will be for those who were warned! 177 So turn away from them for a while. 178 And watch (how they fare) and they soon shall see (how thou farest)! 179 LIMITLESS in His glory is thy Sustainer, the Lord of almightiness, [exalted] above anything that men may devise by way of definition! 180 Peace be on the Messengers. 181 And praise to Allah, Lord of the worlds. 182
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
End of Surah: The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat). Sent down in Mecca after Animals (Al-An 'aam) before Luqmaan (Luqmaan)
