Hizb 46
< random >
And indeed, Jonah was among the messengers. 139 When he ran to the laden ship, 140 And he drew lots and was among the losers. 141 Then the big Fish did swallow him, and he had done acts worthy of blame. 142 Had he not been one of those who struggled hard, 143 He would have remained inside its belly until the Day they are resurrected. 144 ۞ But We caused him to be cast forth on to the beach, sick as he was, 145 And We caused to grow up for him a gourdplant. 146 We sent him to a hundred thousand or more people. 147 and they believed, and We gave them enjoyment for awhile. 148 Therefore ask them (O dear Prophet Mohammed peace and blessings be upon him), whether the daughters are for your Lord and the sons for them! 149 Or that have We created the angels as females, while they were present? 150 Verily, it is of their falsehood that they (Quraish pagans) say: 151 "Allah has begotten children"? but they are liars! 152 Has He chosen daughters in preference to sons? 153 What is the matter with you, how is it that you judge? 154 Will ye not then reflect? 155 Do you have any clear authority for such claims? 156 “Then bring forth your Book, if you are truthful!” 157 And they have invented a kinship between Him and the jinns, but the jinns know well that they have indeed to appear (before Him) (i.e. they will be brought for accounts). 158 Glory to Allah! (He is free) from the things they ascribe (to Him)! 159 all of them except the chosen servants of Allah. 160 But as for you, and that you serve, 161 you shall not tempt any against Him 162 Save him who is to burn in hell. 163 "There is not one of us who does not have his appointed place," (declare the angels.) 164 and, verily, we too are ranged [before Him in worship]; 165 And indeed, we are those who exalt Allah." 166 And there were those who said, 167 “If only we had the Reminder which had been granted to the people of yore 168 we would surely have been Allah's chosen servants.” 169 Yet now (that it has come) they refuse to believe in it; but they will come to know soon. 170 We decreed that Our Messenger servants 171 That they verily would be made triumphant. 172 and Our host -- they are the victors. 173 So withdraw from them (O Muhammad) awhile, 174 And watch, for they will (soon) see. 175 What! would they then hasten on Our chastisement? 176 But then, once it alights upon them, hapless will be the awakening of those who were warned [to no avail]! 177 And turn away from them till a time 178 And watch (how they fare) and they soon shall see (how thou farest)! 179 LIMITLESS in His glory is thy Sustainer, the Lord of almightiness, [exalted] above anything that men may devise by way of definition! 180 So peace be on the messengers, 181 And praise be to Allah, Lord of the Worlds! 182
God Almighty has spoken the truth.
