Hizb 46

And lo! Jonah verily was of those sent (to warn) 139 He abandoned his people 140 and cast lots, and he was among the losers (of the lots that were cast). 141 and the fish swallowed him while he was blaming himself. 142 Had he not been of them who glorify Allah, 143 he would have tarried in its belly until the day they shall be raised; 144 ۞ But We threw him onto the open shore while he was ill. 145 And We grew a tree of gourd (as a shelter) above him. 146 And We sent him to a hundred thousand, rather they exceeded. 147 And they believed, whrefore We let them enjoy life for a season. 148 Now ask them if their Lord has daughters, and they sons? 149 Or created We the angels females while they were witnesses? 150 No indeed! It is one of their fabrications when they say: 151 'God has begotten a son.' They are certainly liars. 152 "He has chosen daughters in preference to sons"! 153 What is the matter with you that you make such strange judgements? 154 Will ye not then receive admonition? 155 Or have ye an authority manifest? 156 Bring your Book, if what you say is true! 157 They have set up a kinship between Him and the jinn; and the jinn know that they shall be arraigned. 158 Hallowed be Allah from that which they ascribe to Him. 159 except for God's sincere servants. 160 So you and your deities 161 cannot mislead anyone 162 except those who will burn in Hell. 163 None of us is there, but has a known station; 164 We are surely those who are arranged in ranks. 165 "And we are verily those who declare (Allah's) glory!" 166 What, would they then say: 167 "Had we received guidance from the people living before us, 168 We would have been the chosen servants of Allah." 169 But when it came to them, they rejected it. They shall soon come to know (the end of such an attitude). 170 We decreed that Our Messenger servants 171 that it is certainly they who will be helped; 172 And most surely Our host alone shall be the victorious ones. 173 (Muhammad), stay away from them for a while 174 and watch them. They, too, will watch. 175 Do they want to hasten Our punishment? 176 But then, once it alights upon them, hapless will be the awakening of those who were warned [to no avail]! 177 And turn thou aside from them for a season. 178 And watch (how they fare) and they soon shall see (how thou farest)! 179 Purity is to your Lord, the Lord of Honour, from all what they say. 180 Peace be with the Messengers (of God). 181 And praise to Allah, Lord of the worlds. 182
God Almighty has spoken the truth.
End of Surah: The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat). Sent down in Mecca after Animals (Al-An 'aam) before Luqmaan (Luqmaan)

Notes and Instructions
قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
