Hizb 46
< random >
Jonah, too, was one of the Messengers. 139 He fled to the overloaded ship. 140 He (agreed to) cast lots, and he was among the losers, 141 Then the big Fish did swallow him, and he had done acts worthy of blame. 142 Had it not been that he (repented and) glorified Allah, 143 he would certainly have remained inside the fish until the Day of Resurrection. 144 ۞ Then We cast him on to the vacant surface of the earth while he was sick. 145 and We caused a gourd tree to grow over him. 146 We sent him to a hundred thousand or more people. 147 And they believed, whrefore We let them enjoy life for a season. 148 So ask them for a pronouncement -- Has thy Lord daughters, and they sons? 149 Did We create the angels females, to which they were witnesses? 150 Unquestionably, it is out of their [invented] falsehood that they say, 151 Allah hath begotten. Allah! verily they tell a lie. 152 Has He chosen daughters in preference to sons? 153 What is the matter with you? How judge ye? 154 What, and will you not remember? 155 Or have you a clear authority? 156 Then bring your book, if you are truthful. 157 They have said that there is a relationship between Him and the jinn. The jinn certainly know that they will all be brought to suffer torment. 158 Glory to Allah! (He is free) from the things they ascribe (to Him)! 159 Save single-minded slaves of Allah. 160 for, verily, neither you [blasphemers] nor the objects of your worship 161 can cause anyone to fall prey to your temptation 162 Except the one who will go into the blazing fire. 163 (Those ranged in ranks say): "Not one of us but has a place appointed; 164 we are those who stand ranged in ranks. 165 We glorify God." 166 AND, INDEED, they [who deny the truth] have always been wont to say, 167 “If we had some advice from the earlier generations,” 168 "We would have indeed been the chosen slaves of Allah (true believers of Islamic Monotheism)!" 169 but they have rejected it, [the Quran] and they shall soon learn! 170 for, long ago has Our word gone forth unto Our servants, the message-bearers, 171 That undoubtedly, only they will be helped. 172 And most surely Our host alone shall be the victorious ones. 173 So, [O Muhammad], leave them for a time. 174 And see them thou; they themselves shall presently see. 175 What, do they seek to hasten Our chastisement? 176 But when it descends in their territory, then evil is the morning of those who were warned. 177 So turn thou from them for a while, 178 And see thou: they themselves shall presently see. 179 Glory be to your Lord, the Lord of Honor, above what they describe. 180 And peace be unto those sent (to warn). 181 And praise be to Allah, Lord of the Worlds! 182
God the Almighty always says the truth.
End of Surah: The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat). Sent down in Mecca after Animals (Al-An 'aam) before Luqmaan (Luqmaan)
