S (Saad)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
Sad. I swear by the Quran, which is full of reminders of God, (that you are a Messenger). 1 Those who deny the truth are steeped in arrogance and hostility. 2 How many a generation have We destroyed before their time [for this very sin]! And [how] they called [unto Us] when it was too late to escape! 3 And they marvel that a warner from among themselves hath come unto them, and the disbelievers say: This is a wizard, a charlatan. 4 Maketh he the gods One God? Verily that is a thing astounding! 5 And the eminent among them went forth, [saying], "Continue, and be patient over [the defense of] your gods. Indeed, this is a thing intended. 6 We never heard of this in the former religion. It is nothing but an invention. 7 "Has the Reminder been sent down to him (alone) from among us?" Nay! but they are in doubt about My Reminder (this Quran)! Nay, but they have not tasted (My) Torment! 8 Or have they the treasures of the Mercy of your Lord, the All-Mighty, the Real Bestower? 9 Have they control over heavens and earth and whatever [lies] between them? Then let them climb up to heaven by ropes: 10 A defeated host are (all) the factions that are there. 11 Before them there have belied the people of Nuh and the 'Aad, and Fir'awn the owner of the stakes. 12 and the tribe of Thamud, and the people of Lot, and the dwellers of the Wood -- these were the confederates. 13 There was not one but belied the apostles, wherefore justified was My wrath. 14
