S (Saad)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
Sad. By the renowned Qur'an, 1 In fact, the disbelievers are in false pride and opposition. 2 How many generations We have destroyed before them! And they cried out when it was too late to escape. 3 And they marvel that a warner from among themselves hath come unto them, and the disbelievers say: This is a wizard, a charlatan. 4 Does he claim that all the deities are [but] one God? Verily, a most strange thing is this!" 5 And the Council of them depart, saying 'Go! Be steadfast to your gods; this is a thing to be desired. 6 We have not heard of this in the last religion; this is surely an invention. 7 Hath the reminder been unto him (alone) among us? Nay, but they are in doubt concerning My reminder; nay but they have not yet tasted My doom. 8 Do they possess the treasures of the mercy of your, (Muhammad's), Lord, the Majestic and Munificent God? 9 Or is theirs the kingdom of the heavens and earth and of what between them is? Why, then let them ascend the cords! 10 [But] there it is: any and all human beings, however [strongly] leagued together, are bound to suffer defeat [whenever they refuse to accept the truth]. 11 The people of Noah denied before them, and [the tribe of] 'Aad and Pharaoh, the owner of stakes, 12 And the tribe of Thamud, and the people of Lut, and the People of the Woods; these are the groups. 13 There was not one but belied the apostles, wherefore justified was My wrath. 14
