S (Saad)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
Suad, I swear by the Quran, full of admonition. 1 Verily those who disbelieve are in vainglory and schism. 2 How many did We destroy before them of the generations, then they cried while the time of escaping had passed away. 3 It seems strange to the pagans that a man from their own people should come to them as a Prophet. The unbelievers have said, "He is only a lying magician". 4 What! makes he the gods a single Allah? A strange thing is this, to be sure! 5 And the eminent among them went forth, [saying], "Continue, and be patient over [the defense of] your gods. Indeed, this is a thing intended. 6 “We never heard of this even in Christianity, the latest religion; this is clearly a newly fabricated matter.” 7 “Is the Qur’an which is sent to him, among us?” In fact they are in a doubt concerning My Book; in fact, they have not yet tasted My punishment. 8 Or do they [think that they] own the treasures of thy Sustainer's grace - [the grace] of the Almighty, the Giver of Gifts? 9 Or is the kingdom of the heavens and the earth and all that is between them theirs? Then let them ascend by ropes! 10 A host of deserters of the allies shall be here put to flight. 11 Before them (were many who) rejected messengers,- the people of Noah, and 'Ad, and Pharaoh, the Lord of Stakes, 12 Thamood, the nation of Lot and the dwellers of the Thicket such were the confederates. 13 not one, that cried not lies to the Messengers, so My retribution was just. 14
