S (Saad)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
Saad, by the Holy Reading (Koran) of the Remembrance. 1 Verily those who disbelieve are in vainglory and schism. 2 How many ancient generations did We destroy? (On facing Our torment) they cried out for help, but it was too late for them to escape. 3 And they wonder that there has come to them a warner from among themselves, and the disbelievers say: This is an enchanter, a liar. 4 Does he claim that all the deities are [but] one God? Verily, a most strange thing is this!" 5 And their leading chiefs said: "Remain attached to your gods. There is surely some motive behind it. 6 We never heard of this in the former religion. It is nothing but an invention. 7 Can it be that he alone has received the Quran?" In fact, they have doubts about My Quran and this is because they have not yet faced (My) torment. 8 Do they have the stores of the mercy of your Lord, the mighty and munificent? 9 Or is the kingdom of the heavens and the earth and all that lies between them, theirs? Then let them climb up the ladders (to the heavens). 10 The army is defeated as (were) the confederates. 11 Even before them the people of Noah, 'Ad, the mighty Pharoah, 12 Thamood, the nation of Lot and the dwellers of the Thicket such were the confederates. 13 Each of them denied the messengers, so My penalty was justified. 14
